The Topic For Today Will Be:

Dental Bonding (Composite)

Bonding is a procedure where we use a tooth-colored composite material to a tooth, shape it, allow it to solidify, and polish it. It can be utilized in specific situations where a tooth has actually been damaged or ended up being stained. These are typically small repairs, ones that can be resolved through this reasonably affordable methods instead of through a more costly dental procedure.

Here's How It Works:
Bonding involves adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth. This is done to fix damage done to the tooth by decay, to alter the alignment of the tooth, close spaces in between the teeth, or for cosmetic purposes. First the surface area of the tooth is roughened in order to accept the bonding and hold it. A gel is applied to micro etch the tooth surface area, and a primer/bond agent is used so the material adheres to the surface area. Then the material itself is placed on the tooth and solidified with intense light. The composite resin material is formed and polished to obtain a glossy finish as a last step.
