If You Require A Dental Crown This Is Probably The Best Choice

Getting a crown has long been known to be a two-visit dental experience. Lots of people have no idea that this is not the case with same day crowns. For our lucky clients, getting a crown just takes one visit!

The Old Two-Visit Way

At the first visit, impressions are taken of the tooth and the impression is sent out to a lab so that your long-term crown can be made. Lots of people do not like the goopy impression materials that can make them gag which takes up to 5 minutes in their mouth to set.

Then your tooth is shaved down so that your crown can be put on top of it. Then you receive a short-term crown cemented over the shaved tooth to hold you over till your long-term crown arrives from the lab. Then later, you have to go back in to the dentist, have the temporary crown removed and the brand-new crown put on your tooth

Same Day Crown Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take precise digital images of locations requiring restoration and produce the appropriate restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in just one visit. We will develop and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to fabricate your crown.

CEREC can be utilized for a broad range of indications: anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays, partial crowns and posterior crowns.

Today's Topic Is About:

Teeth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the top aesthetic concern of the majority of clients, there are a number of methods to lighten teeth. The most popular technique is utilizing a home tooth bleaching system that will bleach teeth dramatically. Because tooth whitening just works on natural tooth enamel, it is important to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, and so on. Replacement of any restorations will be done after lightening so they will match the newly bleached teeth.

Most dentists utilize a number of techniques: customizeded tray whitening, professional strength white strips, and in-office whitening.

The tray approach involves having impressions taken, which the laboratory fabricates into custom-made vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is placed in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The whole procedure takes about a week of day-to-day use. Three different strengths of gel may be used, however, the higher the strength, the greater the possibility of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray technique is recommended for badly stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take a number of months of use to see substantial color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a very quick and practical whitening procedure. The appointment is approximately one hour including both the preparation and treatment. Our patients like this treatment since it is so easy and fast!

Tooth lightening is not permanent. A touch-up might be needed once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For upkeep of whitened teeth the trays need to be used every few months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of external tooth layer.

  • Florousis (extreme fluoridation throughout tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, and so on).
