Today's Discussion Is About:

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental problems.

Spotting problems with x-rays before they end up being problems can save you money in the long run by preventing the need for more extensive, costly treatments or surgeries. X-rays are mostly used to spot:

  • Cysts (fluid filled sacks at the base of your teeth).

  • Impacted teeth.

  • Teeth that are still coming in.

  • Tumors, both cancerous and non-cancerous.

  • Internal tooth decay.

Most dentists use digital x-rays, which have a number of advantages over conventional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays enable us to take x-rays with 1/5 of the radiation that you would receive from conventional dental x-rays. The concern of direct exposure to excess radiation is eliminated.

Large on-screen X-rays make patient communication more effective. The instant observation of the images on the screen allows us to discuss your dental health quickly and precisely.

Digital radiography has significantly improved the practice of dentistry. It enables the client and the medical professional to see pictures of the teeth in higher resolution on a big format for much easier detection of issues, all while decreasing the radiation direct exposure to the patient. The procedure we use further defines the radiograph, resulting in clinically meaningful images that are sharp, detailed and rich in contrast.

Images are available quickly after exposure, getting rid of the wait and effort spent establishing and installing x-rays. If an image needs to be retaken, it can be done instantly. Digital format also enables us to send and receive your images digitally for consultation that can be provided to you quickly.
