Dental Dentures

There are different kinds of dentures, but they share their common function. They replace teeth that have become loose or been lost due to bone loss. When bone loss around the roots of teeth is big enough to let them fall out or loosen them, it's time for dentures. Relax. Nobody enjoys losing their natural teeth, however you can still eat and talk regularly.

The entire mouth is examined and a decision is made as to which teeth will need to be removed, and which will stay. The loose teeth are then removed. Dentures are fitted to go around or over whatever teeth remain in the mouth, depending upon the type. There is an adjustment time after dentures are placed in the mouth, and it can take some getting used to. Once accustomed to the dentures, all the regular capability and appearance return and one just continues as usual. Often implants can be utilized to further stabilize the dentures.

It is important to keep in mind that life with an upper denture, a lower denture, and especially both, is a major lifestyle change when compared to natural teeth. Dentures affect the kind of food you are able to eat, your self-confidence in social scenarios, as well as your self-confidence.

A Couple Reasons For Considering A Full Denture:

  • All Teeth missing in the very same arch

  • Restore chewing capability

  • Restore a natural looking smile

  • Economical alternative to other treatments

An upper complete denture will almost always feel much better than a lower complete denture. In order to significantly improve the fit of a lower complete denture, we frequently recommend using dental implants as a retentive mechanism. 2 dental implants positioned in the lower jaw can help anchor the denture and considerably enhance comfort. Often, the implants can even be put in the jaw after a denture has been in use for multiple years.
