Why Do They Call Them Same Day Crowns?

This cutting edge innovation permits your dentist to take accurate images of your tooth and use those images to design, manufacture, and position a porcelain or zirconia crown in a single appointment. Same day crowns provide unparalleled convenience, value, and accuracy to our clients.

How Does The Same Day Crown Technology Work?

The same day crown process consists of three fundamental steps. 1st, your dental practitioner uses 3D imaging to take highly precise photos of your tooth and the surrounding structures. 2nd, they then download these images into a computer and, using computer-assisted design software, creates your custom-fitted crown. From there, your dental practitioner will send out the design to their in-office accuracy milling machine which develops the crown from a block of dental porcelain or zirconia. Once they stain and glaze the crown for extra strength and esthetics, your dental practitioner will put it on your tooth.

Exactly What Are The Benefits Of Same Day Crowns?

We just use dental porcelain and zirconia to create our same day crowns. These metal-free restorations offer incomparable toughness, sturdiness, chip and stain resistance, and natural beauty.

Precision-fitted same day crowns require less tooth preparation and maintain more of your tooth structure.

Standard crowns require 2 office visits. With same day crowns, you can come to our dentist's office for a visit and leave with a wonderfully fixed tooth.

You can avoid the trouble and possible risks connected with uncomfortable short-term crowns.

The Conversation For Today Is:

Endodontic Treatment (Root Canal)

Root canal treatment (also referred to as root canal therapy or endodontic therapy) is needed when a cavity is allowed, through neglect, to reach all the way to the root pulp. (Regular cleanings and checkups prevent and detect problems early). In some cases deep restorations or trauma to a tooth may also trigger the nerve to be damaged to the point it requires root canal therapy. When this occurs, the pulp becomes infected, and can even extend through the root tip and start to eat away at the surrounding bone (this is an abscess).

By the time the pulp is infected it should be treated, and can not recover on its own. It can even deteriorate the entire immune system. This is dangerous, and might be really uncomfortable. Signs that the pulp has actually ended up being infected may include sensitivity to hot/cold or sugary foods, pain, swelling, pain to biting or pressure, and a bad taste in the mouth. Sometimes, however, no symptoms appear and the person is unaware of any issue till a checkup.

A root canal is then carried out to clear out the infected tooth pulp, and sanitize the canals of the tooth. The only other treatment would be to extract the tooth. Once the infection is fixed, the canal(s) are filled in to prevent any more infection. Typically a core build-up and crown is recommended for restoring a tooth that has actually had root canal therapy.
