Same day crowns are a dental restoration device that permits a dental practitioner to produce an indirect ceramic dental restoration using computer-assisted technologies, consisting of 3-D photography and CAD/CAM (computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing).

Same day crowns permits dentists the versatility to fix teeth in a single sitting with a client, rather than the several appointments required with other techniques!

Same day crowns have been shown by numerous clinical studies and is provided by thousands of dentists to countless clients all over the world each year!

Same day crowns not only saves you money and time, it can also save your teeth!

Dental X-rays are unable to penetrate metal crowns, making any degeneration undetected until it was too late.

Same day crowns use a strong porcelain that x-rays can penetrate. This indicates any degeneration below the restoration can be discovered and fixed before it becomes a big problem.

Since same day crown innovation use a milling unit to mill the ceramic into your custom restoration, the porcelain is more durable than those created by hand. And, the computer-assisted technology can develop an almost similar restoration of the previous tooth.

Today's Topic Has To Do With:

Dental Crowns

A crown (or cap) is a covering that covers the whole tooth surface area restoring it to its initial sizes and shape. A crown protects and strengthens the tooth structure providing the tooth a longer life span than it would have if brought back by fillings or other types of restorations.

Crowns are full coverage restorations that are utilized to cover a tooth that is most likely to break, or is too broken down to be brought back with a filling. They are most typically done after root canal treatments, or when a large filling wears out. The bigger the hole made by a cavity that needs to be treated, the more likely a crown will be required. Even after a filling is put in a huge cavity, a tooth is more likely to break. Keep in mind that the jaw muscles are the strongest in the human body. Teeth undergo tremendous pressures. Crowns sit over the weakened tooth, offering strength and securing the tooth against breakage. A busted or cracked tooth is a far more serious matter and a lot more tough to treat. Crowns prevent this, as well as producing a nice smile.

It takes two appointments to recover a tooth with a crown. In the first visit any decay is removed from the tooth and it is formed to accept the crown. Then an impression is made of the tooth for use in producing a crown. In between the two visits the crown is made, generally of high-strength porcelain over gold alloy, all ceramic material, or gold. A short-term crown is used during this time. In the second visit this short-term crown is removed. Then the {permanent crown is adjusted as needed then cemented in place.

What Does Getting A Crown Include?

A crown treatment usually requires 2 appointments. Your first appointment will include taking impressions that will be utilized to produce your customized crown. A mold will also be used to create a short-term crown which will stay on your tooth for roughly two weeks up until your new crown is made by a dental lab.

While the tooth is numb, the dental practitioner will prepare the tooth by eliminating any decay and shaping the surface to appropriately fit the crown. As soon as these details are accomplished, your temporary crown will be positioned with temporary cement and your bite will be inspected to ensure you are biting correctly.

At your second appointment your temporary crown will be removed, the tooth will be cleaned, and your brand-new crown will be carefully positioned to make sure the spacing and bite are precise.

You will be given care directions and encouraged to have regular dental visits to check your crown. As always, proper oral hygiene will help extend the life of your brand-new crown.
