What Are Single Visit Dental Crowns?

The same day crown is a technology for restoring damaged teeth, and this restoration can be finished in a single appointment to the dentist's office. It makes your teeth stronger and more gorgeous, all while keeping your teeth looking natural. The restoration is metal-free, and the high-grade ceramic material works with the natural tissue found in your mouth.

The Single Visit Crown Process

Throughout your appointment, you and your dentist will discuss the information of the procedure and your dentist will answer any questions you may have. Your dental practitioner will then apply a thin layer of reflective powder onto your tooth and will use a special 3D imaging camera to take a photo of your tooth. Using the new software, your restoration will be created according to your tooth's appropriate form and function.

Then, the mill will use diamond burs to develop your restoration out of a piece of ceramic. Lastly, the ceramic restoration is bonded to your tooth using state-of-the-art adhesive dentistry.

Same Day Tooth Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take precise digital imagery of areas requiring restoration and produce the appropriate restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in just one visit. We will develop and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to fabricate your crown.

CEREC can be used for a wide scope of indications: veneers, inlays, onlays, partial crowns, posterior crowns and anterior crowns.

The Conversation Of The Day Is:

Ultrasonic Cleanings

We use ultrasonic scalers for the majority of adult dental cleanings. These devices use ultrasonic vibrations to help breakdown the plaque and calculus on the teeth that cause gingivitis and periodontal disease. The ultrasonic cleaners create microscopic bubbles that implode on the surface of the tooth, killing microbes and eliminating plaque and tartar at the same time. Our instruments use a thin tip to better navigate in the gum pockets to help preserve optimal gingival health.

  • The treatment only uses water, no chemicals are used.

  • It can get rid of tartar buildup in hard-to-reach areas, with no damage to the tooth enamel.

  • Manual scaling commonly uses pressure for cleaning, while the vibration produced by the scaling tip of an ultrasonic scaler is hardly perceptible. This makes ultrasonic cleaning ideal to those with delicate teeth.

  • The cleaning process is quicker than manual scaling making your visit more comfortable.

After your teeth have actually been cleaned with the ultrasonic cleaner, your teeth will be hand scaled to check for any residual deposits then polished.
