The Same Day Crown Process

Throughout your appointment, you and your dentist will go over the information of the treatment and your dental practitioner will address any questions you might have. Your dental practitioner will then apply a thin layer of reflective powder onto your tooth and will use a special 3D imaging camera to take a image of your tooth. Using the new software, your restoration will be designed according to your tooth's proper form and function.

Then, the mill will use diamond burs to develop your restoration from a piece of ceramic. Finally, the ceramic restoration is bonded to your tooth using cutting edge adhesive dentistry.

Today's Conversation Has To Do With:

Dental Implants

A dental implant is a metal device created to replace missing teeth. The device is usually constructed out of titanium and is surgically put into the jawbone where the tooth is missing. An implant is permanent, unlike a dental bridge.

Crowns and conventional bridges or dentures might not be your only options when replacing missing teeth. For some individuals, dental implants offer a smile that looks very natural. Surgically placed below the gums over a series of appointments, implants fuse to the jawbone and function as a base for bridges or a denture, individual replacement teeth.

Implants offer stability due to the fact that they fuse to your bone, a process called osseointegration. Integration of these implants into your jaw also helps your replacement teeth feel more natural and some individuals also discover the secure fit is more comfortable than traditional alternatives. Candidates for dental implants must have healthy gums and adequate bone to support the implant.

What's Involved In Getting A Dental Implant?

A dental implant might be an option to replace a missing tooth. In this procedure, a little titanium shaft is surgically {placed|implanted into the bone and allowed to set. The bone grows around it forming a tight connection, which in addition slows or stops the bone loss that occurs when the root of a natural tooth is missing. When the implant is firmly set in the mouth, the dentist then works to connect the replacement tooth onto the top of the shaft. This permanent solution has the advantages over bridge work that it does not need the surrounding teeth for support, and, should the tooth break, another can merely be replaced on the shaft.

Implants can also be utilized as support as part of an implant bridge. This is an alternative to partial dentures, and has multiple advantages. First, there is no adjustment period to acclimatize the patient who, when the work is done, only feels teeth, not metal supports intruding into the mouth. Second, this slows the bone loss occasioned by missing teeth. Third, there is no discomfort or difficulty in eating. And, best of all, of course, they do not need to be taken out all the time.
