Are you too busy for the routine two dental visit crown?

Technology today is altering our everyday lives. Many individuals, however, aren't aware that innovation also is affecting dentistry in new and amazing methods.

Advanced innovations in dental instruments are requiring less time in the dental chair, triggering less pain and creating rewarding results.

One development instrument, called same day crowns, enables dental practitioners to quickly restore damaged teeth with natural-colored ceramic fillings, conserving clients time and trouble.

Exactly what are Same Day Crowns?

Same day crowns, indicates that a dentist can quickly fix damaged teeth in a single visit using a high-quality ceramic product that matches the natural color of other teeth.

How does it work?

Same day crowns use CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing) innovation, integrating a camera, computer, and milling machine in one instrument.

The dentist uses a unique camera to take an accurate photo of the broken tooth. This optical impression is transferred and displayed on a color computer screen, where the dentist utilizes CAD innovation to develop the restoration. The CAM takes over and automatically produces the restoration while the client waits.

At lastly, the dental practitioner bonds the brand-new restoration to the surface area of the old tooth. The whole process takes about 2 hours.

Exactly what does this innovation mean for a patient?

A tooth-colored restoration means no more silver fillings discoloring smiles. The filling is natural-looking, compatible with tissue in the mouth, anti-abrasive and plaque-resistant.

Dentists no longer need to produce temporaries or take impressions and send them to a laboratory. Because of this, the standard second appointment has been removed.

Same day crowns have two decades of clinical research study and paperwork to support the technology. The restorations have actually been proven exact, safe and reliable.

Today's Topic Will Be:

Dental Bonding (Composite)

Bonding is a treatment in which we apply a tooth-colored composite material to a tooth, shape it, allow it to harden, and polish it. It can be utilized in specific scenarios where a tooth has been damaged or become stained. These are generally minor repairs, ones that can be resolved through this relatively inexpensive means rather than through a more expensive dental treatment.

How It Works:
Bonding includes adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth. This is done to repair damage done to the tooth by decay, to alter the alignment of the tooth, close spaces in between the teeth, or for cosmetic purposes. First the surface of the tooth is roughened in order to accept the bonding and hold it. A gel is applied to micro etch the tooth surface, and a primer/bond agent is used so the material sticks to the surface. Then the material itself is placed on the tooth and hardened with intense light. The composite resin material is formed and polished to get a shiny finish as a last step.
