ONE DAY DENTAL CROWNS
BLANCHARD IDAHO

Updated On Sunday, September 23, 2018 03:43:29 AM

At our dental practice we do same day crowns. You may be asking, what are same day crowns and exactly what can it provide for me?

It is a 3D system that lets us make porcelain crowns and inlays all in one appointment. We have now been using this innovation for many years and love it more than ever.

Same day crowns are an in-surgery computer system that enables us to replace broken or missing tooth structures with a ceramic material that's as close to a natural tooth as is possible.

This is done while you are in the practice, in just one appointment. All ceramic porcelain inlays and onlays, veneers and crowns that look like natural teeth can be made and placed in a single appointment, generally in about an hour.

So what is the treatment?

We scan the opposite teeth and the method the teeth bite together first. We remove the old filling, and decay and any thin weak tooth material and scan the prepared tooth.

After this we quit working in the mouth and start working with the computer.

Everyone likes seeing the pictures of their teeth and the developing of their brand-new tooth. We make 3D design and this information is sent to the milling device.

Everyone asks if this is like 3D printing and yes it is, but the tooth isn't developed layer by layer, it is cut back from a block in the machine, which is much more durable.

The block is then exactly sculpted to produce your new restoration, which is fantastic.

At last, the custom made crown restoration bonded seamlessly into the tooth, strengthening and sealing it at the same time and then we clean up!

We need to make sure that you can bite correctly, that its smooth and that you can floss.

Same Day Crowns Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take exact digital imagery of areas requiring restoration and produce the appropriate restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in just one visit. We will design and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to make your crown.

CEREC can be used in a broad range of indications: inlays, onlays, partial crowns, posterior crowns, anterior crowns and veneers.

Today's Conversation Will Be About:

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental problems.

Finding issues with x-rays before they become problems can save you money in the long run by preventing the requirement for more extensive, pricey procedures or surgeries. X-rays are primarily utilized to discover:

  • Cysts (fluid filled sacks at the base of your teeth).

  • Impacted teeth.

  • Teeth that are still coming in.

  • Tumors, both cancerous and non-cancerous.

  • Internal tooth decay.

Most dentists use digital x-rays, which have multiple advantages over conventional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays enable us to take x-rays with 1/5 of the radiation that you would receive from conventional dental x-rays. The concern of exposure to excess radiation is removed.

Large on-screen X-rays make patient communication more efficient. The immediate observation of the images on the screen enables us to discuss your dental health quickly and properly.

Digital radiography has significantly enhanced the practice of dentistry. It enables the client and the doctor to see pictures of the teeth in greater resolution on a large format for much easier detection of issues, all while reducing the radiation direct exposure to the patient. The process we use further defines the radiograph, leading to clinically meaningful images that are sharp, detailed and rich in contrast.

Images are available instantly after exposure, removing the wait and effort spent developing and mounting x-rays. If an image has to be retaken, it can be done right away. Digital format also allows us to send out and receive your images electronically for consultation that can be presented to you quickly.
