Porcelain Veneers (Teeth)
Veneers are a really thin pieces of durable, tooth shaped, porcelain that are customizeded (for shape and color) by a professional dental lab. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to create a gorgeous and appealing smile.
Veneers can entirely improve your teeth and smile. They can commonly be alternatives to crowns and the perfect solution in treating numerous cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.
Similar to a lot of dental restorations, veneers might at some point require replacement; however, they are still extremely resilient and will last years, offering you a long lasting, lovely smile.
How Are Veneers Applied?
Veneers are a dental procedure in which a covering is positioned over the outside (noticeable area) of the tooth. Veneers are typically only done to the part of the teeth that are visible when talking or grinning. The treatment can be direct or indirect.
The direct strategy usually involves positioning composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This approach is normally referred to as bonding.
The indirect method usually involves two visits because the veneers will be fabricated at a dental laboratory. At the first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are given a short-term covering. In two to three weeks the veneers are back from the laboratory, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The laboratory fabricated veneers are normally made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are very esthetic.
The benefit of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is eliminated, and the treatment is usually less unpleasant. Veneers are not recommended for teeth that have big fillings or little tooth structure.
You will receive care guidelines for your veneers. Appropriate brushing, flossing and routine dental visits will aid in the life of your new and stunning veneers.
