Our practice likes new technology, specifically when it enhances the dental care that we can supply to our patients. Because of this we now provide same day crowns.

Same day crowns are a fantastic new innovation where gorgeous all porcelain crowns are developed within two hours of the prep work of a tooth for a crown. The old procedure was where the dentist prepared your tooth for a crown, took an impression and sent this impression to a lab to have the crown built. During this time the patient would have to wear a temporary plastic crown that was normally uncomfortable.

Today, our devices enables us to scan the tooth preparation and mill out a new all porcelain crown within two hours. This means that the patient leaves our practice with the final crown that day!

  • There is no need to wear a temporary crown for 2 or 3 weeks.

  • There is no need to return once more to have the single day crown inserted on your tooth.

  • There is no need to be numbed once more! No more shot needles!

Our practice chooses same day crowns since it is made of gorgeous material as well as extremely durable.

If your thinking about a same day crown, please give our office a call.

Today's Subject Will Be:

Porcelain Veneers (Teeth)

Veneers are a really thin pieces of durable, tooth shaped, porcelain that are customizeded (for shape and color) by a professional dental lab. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to create a gorgeous and appealing smile.

Veneers can entirely improve your teeth and smile. They can commonly be alternatives to crowns and the perfect solution in treating numerous cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.

Similar to a lot of dental restorations, veneers might at some point require replacement; however, they are still extremely resilient and will last years, offering you a long lasting, lovely smile.

How Are Veneers Applied?

Veneers are a dental procedure in which a covering is positioned over the outside (noticeable area) of the tooth. Veneers are typically only done to the part of the teeth that are visible when talking or grinning. The treatment can be direct or indirect.

The direct strategy usually involves positioning composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This approach is normally referred to as bonding.

The indirect method usually involves two visits because the veneers will be fabricated at a dental laboratory. At the first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are given a short-term covering. In two to three weeks the veneers are back from the laboratory, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The laboratory fabricated veneers are normally made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are very esthetic.

The benefit of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is eliminated, and the treatment is usually less unpleasant. Veneers are not recommended for teeth that have big fillings or little tooth structure.

You will receive care guidelines for your veneers. Appropriate brushing, flossing and routine dental visits will aid in the life of your new and stunning veneers.
