Why Are They Called Same Day Crowns?

This advanced technology permits your dentist to take accurate images of your tooth and use those images to design, manufacture, and put a porcelain or zirconia crown in a single visit. Same day crowns provide exceptional benefits, value, and accuracy to our clients.

How Does The Same Day Crown Technology Work?

The same day crown process consists of three fundamental steps. First, your dentist uses 3D imaging to take highly precise photos of your tooth and the surrounding structures. Next, they then download these images into a computer and, using computer-assisted design software, creates your custom-fitted crown. From there, your dentist will send the design to their in-office accuracy milling machine which develops the crown from a block of dental porcelain or zirconia. Once they stain and glaze the crown for additional strength and esthetics, your dental practitioner will position it on your tooth.

Exactly What Are The Benefits Of Same Day Crowns?

We just use dental porcelain and zirconia to produce our same day crowns. These metal-free restorations provide incomparable strength, resilience, chip and stain resistance, and natural charm.

Precision-fitted same day crowns require less tooth prep work and preserve more of your tooth structure.

Traditional crowns need 2 office appointments. With same day crowns, you can come to our dentist's office for an appointment and leave with a magnificently restored tooth.

You can prevent the inconvenience and potential risks related to ill-fitting short-term crowns.

The Conversation For Today Is:

Fillings

Fillings are done to eliminate decay, and replace the afflicted tooth structure. It is called a filling since brand-new material fills the hole that the decay left. Now days most teeth are treated with bonded tooth colored composite resin fillings. Caught early enough, cavities can be treated easily and painlessly. If not treated, decay can cause tooth discomfort and/or infection, and the tooth would require a root canal treatment or extraction.

There are two types of fillings; amalgam or silver fillings, and composite or white fillings. Composite fillings are tooth-colored to blend in with the remaining natural part of the tooth. Most dentists supply both kinds of fillings, but find that many of their patients prefer the composite fillings.

The term composite refers to the actual filling material which is a mix of glass or quartz filler in a resin medium.

Composite fillings offer excellent durability and resistance to fracture in small-to-mid size restorations that have to stand up to moderate chewing pressure. Less tooth structure is eliminated when the dentist prepares the tooth, and this might result in a smaller sized filling than with of an amalgam.

In addition, composites are "bonded", or adhesively connected, to the tooth, frequently allowing a more conservative repair for the tooth. Composite fillings require that the tooth be kept clean and dry during the whole filling process and they go through stain and staining over time. The life span of a white filling can depend greatly on where it is in your mouth and how heavily your teeth come together when you bite.

Composite filling material is also commonly used to repair front teeth that have cracked or worn. Where possible, esthetic bonding of composite material to front teeth is usually much more economical than veneers or crowns. However, bonding typically does not last as long as veneers or crowns.
