3 Reasons To Choose Same Day Crowns

If you've ever had a crown placed over one of your teeth before, you understand that the process normally includes at least 2 visits to the dental practitioner and the placement of a short-term crown prior to you getting your permanent one.

However, there is a brand-new treatment for getting crowns that can permit you to obtain a permanent crown the same day. As the name indicates, same day crown devices permits crowns to be created right there beside the dental practitioner's chair.

Take a look at a few reasons that same day crowns might be right for you.

More Attractive Teeth

Same day crowns are made entirely of ceramic, getting rid of the need for metal. While metal crowns are completely practical and safe, they're frequently considered less appealing than ceramic.

Ceramic crowns more closely resemble your natural enamel, making them an visually preferable alternative, especially for highly-visible front teeth.

Same day crown devices can match the crown exactly to the shade of your natural teeth.

Saves Money And Time

Every hour you invest at the dental practitioner's office is an hour off work or away from another activity or responsibility.

Needing to return to the dentist's office multiple times for one procedure may indicate getting time off at work approved for more than one day, hiring a babysitter for more than one day, or filling your automobile with gas to drive out of your way more than once in a brief time-span.

However you take a look at it, several dental visits cost you money, in addition to exactly what you're investing in the dental procedure. Getting everything performed in one appointment saves time, and time is cash.

Conserves More Natural Teeth

The device used in the same day crown procedure takes a digital scan of your tooth and after that is used to mill the crown on the spot, using the specific specs provided by the digital scan.

This enables the dental practitioner to keep as much of your natural tooth structure as possible, which is the healthiest choice for your jaw.

This also allows the dental practitioner to use the device to create inlays or onlays. These are partial crowns, used when you require more coverage than a filling will provide but less than a full crown.

Thanks to the more precise digital measurements provided by the same day crown machine, teeth that may once have actually needed a complete crown may now be candidates for just a partial crown.

If you know that one of your broken teeth will probably need a crown, be sure to make an appointment with our dentists today.

Today's Topic Will Be:

Dental Bonding (Composite)

Bonding is a procedure where we apply a tooth-colored composite material to a tooth, shape it, allow it to solidify, and polish it. It can be utilized in specific scenarios where a tooth has actually been broken or become stained. These are generally small repairs, ones that can be resolved through this reasonably inexpensive means rather than through a more pricey dental treatment.

Here Is How It Works:
Bonding involves adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth. This is done to repair damage done to the tooth by decay, to modify the alignment of the tooth, close gaps between the teeth, or for cosmetic purposes. First the surface of the tooth is roughed up in order to accept the bonding and hold it. A gel is applied to micro etch the tooth surface, and a primer/bond agent is used so the material adheres to the surface area. Then the material itself is put on the tooth and solidified with intense light. The composite resin material is formed and polished to get a lustrous finish as a last step.
