Can Same Day Crowns Benefit Me?

With this new technology it enables dental practitioners to custom-craft restorations in just one hour. With this, we can fabricate natural looking crowns, onlays, inlays, and veneers here in our office while you relax. Now, there is no longer a need to make multiple appointments to the dental practitioner's office to be measured and fitted with temporary restorations - you can enjoy a fantastic, natural looking, and durable solution for your missing or broken teeth today.

First, your dental practitioner will consult with you to discuss the details of the treatment. Throughout the treatment, the dentist will apply a thin layer of reflective powder onto your tooth and will use a special camera to take a picture of your tooth.

Using the new software, the image functions as a map to develop your tooth's restoration. Then, it will use a diamond bur and disk-work to create your restoration piece from ceramic.

Finally, the ceramic restoration is bonded to your tooth using cutting edge adhesive dentistry.

It makes your teeth tougher and more beautiful - all while keeping your teeth looking natural. The restoration is metal-free and the high-grade ceramic product works with the natural tissue found in your mouth.

Same Day Tooth Restorations

We will create and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to produce your crown.

Today's Topic Will Be:

Fillings

Fillings are done to eliminate decay, and replace the affected tooth structure. It is called a filling due to the fact that new material fills the hole that the decay left. Now days most teeth are treated with bonded tooth colored composite resin fillings. Caught early enough, cavities can be treated easily and painlessly. If not treated, decay can result in tooth discomfort and/or infection, and the tooth would need a root canal treatment or extraction.

There are 2 kinds of fillings; amalgam or silver fillings, and composite or white fillings. Composite fillings are tooth-colored to blend in with the remaining natural part of the tooth. Most dentists offer both kinds of fillings, but find that a lot of their patients like the composite fillings.

The term composite refers to the actual filling material which is a mix of glass or quartz filler in a resin medium.

Composite fillings provide excellent sturdiness and resistance to fracture in small-to-mid size restorations that need to withstand moderate chewing pressure. Less tooth structure is eliminated when the dental practitioner prepares the tooth, and this might result in a smaller sized filling than with of an amalgam.

In addition, composites are "bonded", or adhesively attached, to the tooth, commonly enabling a more conservative repair for the tooth. Composite fillings require that the tooth be kept clean and dry throughout the entire filling process and they are subject to stain and discoloration over time. The life span of a white filling can depend considerably on where it is in your mouth and how heavily your teeth come together when you bite.

Composite filling material is also typically used to repair front teeth that have chipped or worn. Where possible, esthetic bonding of composite material to front teeth is generally much more economical than veneers or crowns. However, bonding normally does not last as long as veneers or crowns.
