WEST BRANCH NEW YORK

Updated On Wednesday, December 19, 2018 01:13:14 AM

Thanks to innovative modern day innovations, we are proud to introduce the ability to provide you with same day crowns - that's right, a brand-new crown in simply one appointment! Here's how it works.

Step One, high resolution digital 3-D impressions are taken with a little camera, a unique camera built just for this purpose.

Step 2, the new software assesses the entire image and uses the results to calculate a number of excellent restoration possibilities. Next those possibilities are assessed and improved by the doctor and the final restoration strategy is selected.

Lastly your new crown is made by the cerec device right in our office and put in your mouth, all in one visit!

If you would like to understand more about the same day crown treatment, call our office and we would be happy to assist you.

Same Day Teeth Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take precise digital imagery of areas needing restoration and produce the appropriate restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in simply one visit. We will design and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to make your crown.

CEREC can be utilized for a wide range of indications: inlays, onlays, partial crowns, posterior crowns, anterior crowns and veneers.

Today's Subject Is:

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental issues.

Spotting issues with x-rays before they become problems can save you money in the long run by preventing the need for more extensive, expensive treatments or surgeries. X-rays are mostly used to identify:

  • Cysts (fluid filled sacks at the base of your teeth).

  • Impacted teeth.

  • Teeth that are still coming in.

  • Tumors, both cancerous and non-cancerous.

  • Internal tooth decay.

Most dentists use digital x-rays, which have a number of advantages over conventional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays enable us to take x-rays with 1/5 of the radiation that you would receive from traditional dental x-rays. The worry of direct exposure to excess radiation is eliminated.

Big on-screen X-rays make client communication more effective. The instant observation of the images on the screen enables us to discuss your dental health quickly and properly.

Digital radiography has greatly enhanced the practice of dentistry. It allows the client and the physician to see images of the teeth in greater resolution on a big format for much easier detection of issues, all while reducing the radiation exposure to the client. The process we use further defines the radiograph, leading to clinically meaningful images that are sharp, detailed and rich in contrast.

Images are available instantly after exposure, getting rid of the wait and effort spent developing and mounting x-rays. If an image has to be retaken, it can be done right away. Digital format also enables us to send out and get your images digitally for consultation that can be provided to you rapidly.
