Generally, acquiring a crown for a broken or weakening tooth is a long process that includes a number of steps and possibly numerous days of wait time before you get your brand-new tooth.

A same day crown makes it possible for you to walk in to see a dentist and leave with your brand-new tooth already in place. If you have a dental practitioner offering same day crowns and are anticipating your visit, it is likely that you will have some questions about the process.

Here are a few of the most significant questions about same day crowns and the answers you will wish to know.

How is a same day crown any different from a regular dental crown?

The reality is, there is not a great deal of difference in the process to obtain a same day crown.

The only difference is that you will not be sent home to wait for your permanent crown to be produced by a dental laboratory, as the crown will be made in the dental office while you are there.

This eliminated the lengthy procedure of being fitted with a temporary crown and then later refitted with the permanent crown when it is finished.

How is it possible for a dental practitioner to create a long-term crown during your appointment?

With improvements in dental technology, if a dentist has the ideal devices in the office, together with the right skill, they can produce the brand-new tooth from a solid piece of ceramic while you wait. This occurs using a device that takes the direct measurement of the mouth and existing teeth and changes it into an actual prosthetic from the ceramic using precise computer technology.

Besides the apparent benefit of less time to complete, what are the benefits of same day crowns?

Same day crowns permits you to avoid the entire step of a temporary crown, which can be a hassel to look after and may be prone to removing with simple oral hygiene, such as flossing and brushing.

Since entire steps are removed from the crowning process, such as several dental appointments, you might even conserve some money to have a new same day crown placed.

To walk into a dentist office and leave with a new crown in one appointment is an ideal and logical choice for patients who need help with a damaged tooth.

Speak with your dental practitioner for more details about same day crowns.

The Topic For Today Is:

UltraSonic Tooth Cleaning

We use ultrasonic scalers for most adult dental cleanings. These devices use ultrasonic vibrations to help breakdown the plaque and calculus on the teeth that trigger gingivitis and gum disease. The ultrasonic cleaners create microscopic bubbles that implode on the surface of the tooth, killing microorganisms and getting rid of plaque and tartar at the same time. Our instruments use a thin tip to better navigate in the periodontal pockets to help preserve optimal gingival health.

  • The procedure only uses water, no chemicals are used.

  • It can get rid of tartar buildup in hard-to-reach areas, with no damage to the tooth enamel.

  • Manual scaling often uses pressure for cleaning, while the vibration produced by the scaling tip of an ultrasonic scaler is barely perceptible. This makes ultrasonic cleaning appropriate to those with sensitive teeth.

  • The cleaning process is much faster than manual scaling making your visit more comfortable.

After your teeth have actually been cleaned with the ultrasonic cleaner, your teeth will be hand scaled to check for any residual deposits and then polished.
