A Couple Advantages Of Getting A Same Day Crown

Crowns are a very common dental treatment that is often required when somebody's tooth is broken or if the tooth has actually broken down to the point where a filling will not work.

Normal crowns are relatively inconvenient to obtain, however there is an alternative. Same-day crowns are a great choice due to the fact that they are more convenient and lead to less discomfort:

Less Pain

A standard crown can lead to pain for a couple of factors, but one of the biggest sources of pain and discomfort is a result of having to have a temporary crown.

A temporary crown is applied as a placeholder to protect your exposed tooth till your long-term crown can be provided to your dentist. This can take anywhere from a couple of days to a couple of weeks.

The problem with a short-term crown is that they are not really strong, which means that they can break or come loose extremely easily.

A broken or loose temporary crown will expose your tooth to liquids and food, both which can cause quite a bit of pain if they reach the exposed nerves below the temporary crown.

Another source of discomfort originates from a loose crown rubbing along your gums. This rubbing can get to the point where it can get rather painful and begin to bleed, which also opens the path for possible infections.

The good news is, a same-day crown will supply you with a long-term crown at the end of your first appointment to the dentist.

This eliminates the need for a short-term crown, hence permitting you to avoid all of the pain and discomfort.

Convenient

A standard crown is not a very hassle-free treatment to have performed, mainly due to the fact that it generally takes a minimum of two appointments to finish.

If your short-term crown is broken or falls off, which is common, you will need to make another visit to have it changed. This can be a huge issue if you have a hectic schedule on your hands, or if you have a job that prevents requiring time off in the middle of a hectic work day.

However, a same-day crown can be finished in a single day, with a single appointment. This is enabled since lots of dental practitioners will buy the equipment to make their own crowns, instead of having to buy crowns from a dental laboratory.

This lets you prevent the inconvenience of needing to potentially spend weeks and numerous appointments to your dentist before the treatment is over and done with.

Talk to your dental practitioner and inquire about the advantages offered by a same-day crown. A same-day crown can supply you with a practical and relatively pain-free alternative to a standard crown.

Today's Conversation Will Be About:

Tooth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the primary aesthetic concern of many clients, there are multiple methods to bleach teeth. The most popular method is utilizing a home tooth whitening system that will bleach teeth considerably. Because tooth whitening only works on natural tooth enamel, it is necessary to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, etc. Replacement of any restorations will be done after bleaching so they will match the freshly bleached teeth.

Most dentists utilize a number of methods: custom made tray whitening, professional strength white strips, and in-office lightening.

The tray technique involves having impressions taken, which the lab fabricates into customized vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is put in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The whole process takes about a week of everyday use. 3 different strengths of gel might be used, however, the greater the strength, the greater the probability of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray approach is recommended for badly stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it might take a number of months of use to see substantial color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a very quick and convenient lightening process. The visit is around one hour including both the preparation and treatment. Our clients love this treatment because it is so simple and quick!

Tooth bleaching is not permanent. A touch-up may be required once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For maintenance of whitened teeth the trays ought to be used every few months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of outer tooth layer.

  • Florousis (excessive fluoridation during tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, etc.).
