Same Day Crowns And Teeth Restorations

Do you need to get a dental crown? Or will you quickly be requiring a dental treatment that will cause you to require a dental crown? If so, you may be starting to dread the time you will have to invest at the dentist's office. At our dental practice, we offer a terrific time-saving solution for you. We offer same day crowns at our practice!

At our practice we are proud to have expert and highly-trained dental practitioners on staff. At our dental practice we integrate advanced technology and treatments to offer our clients with the best restorative, precautionary, implant, and cosmetic dentistry care. For clients who have to get dental crowns, we are extremely pleased to be able to provide same day crowns.

Crowns and caps are 2 different names for the same thing. A dental crown is a restoration that is typically made from porcelain. It is a strong structure that is used to cover a tooth on all 4 sides to help strengthen the tooth and enhance its function.

Crowns can also be used to attach bridges, as the top part of a dental implant, or to prevent a damaged tooth from becoming weaker. Crowns can also be used to strengthen a tooth after a root canal treatment.

Crowns are also used for purely aesthetic reasons, such as to cover a seriously stained tooth that has to be brought back to its original, appealing look.

Typically getting a dental crown is a lengthy treatment. The dentist will need to take impressions, supply you with a short-term crown, await the crown to be returned from a laboratory, and after that have you return to the office so that it can be permanently attached. Today at our practice patients can get same day crowns in about 2 hours.

Our same day crowns are created in our practice thanks to our CAD-CAM technology.

CAD-CAM stands for "computer-aided-design-computer-aided-manufacture." Computers are used to take photos which are then computer-analyzed and used to develop a crown.

This crown is in fact milled by a computer in our office. The crown will fit your mouth precisely and remove any need to send out impressions or photos to an outside laboratory.

All this is done while you wait, eliminating the need to come back for a second visit.

You also will not need to get a crown, since our long-term crown will be immediately available to you.

If you wish to consult with our dentist to get more information about same day crowns or to get a same day crown, call our office.

Today's Subject Is:

Teeth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the number one aesthetic concern of a lot of clients, there are a number of methods to lighten teeth. The most popular technique is using a home tooth whitening system that will whiten teeth dramatically. Because tooth bleaching only works on natural tooth enamel, it is important to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, etc. Replacement of any restorations will be done after whitening so they will match the recently bleached teeth.

Most dentists utilize numerous techniques: custom made tray bleaching, professional strength white strips, and in-office whitening.

The tray approach involves having impressions taken, which the laboratory makes into custom vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is placed in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The whole procedure takes about a week of day-to-day use. 3 various strengths of gel may be utilized, however, the higher the strength, the greater the probability of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray technique is advised for severely stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take a number of months of use to see substantial color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a very fast and practical bleaching process. The visit is roughly one hour including both the preparation and treatment. Our patients enjoy this treatment since it is so simple and quick!

Tooth lightening is not permanent. A touch-up might be required once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For maintenance of whitened teeth the trays need to be utilized every few months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of external tooth layer.

  • Florousis (extreme fluoridation throughout tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, and so on).
