CROWN IN A DAY
HAMPTON VA

Updated On Thursday, December 13, 2018 08:37:13 PM

Our practice likes new innovations, specifically when it improves the dental care that we can offer to our clients. Because of this we now provide same day crowns.

Same day crowns are a fantastic new technology where stunning all porcelain crowns are developed within two hours of the preparation of a tooth for a crown. The old process was where the dentist prepared your tooth for a crown, took an impression and sent this impression to a laboratory to have the crown built. During this time the client would need to wear a temporary plastic crown that was always uncomfortable.

Today, our devices permits us to scan the tooth preparation and mill out a brand-new all porcelain crown within 2 hours. This means that the patient leaves our office with the final crown that day!

  • There is no need to have a short-term crown for two to three weeks.

  • There's no need to return again to have the one day crown placed on your tooth.

  • There's no need to be numbed up once again! No more shots!

Our practice prefers same day crowns due to the fact that it is made of beautiful material and also exceptionally durable.

If your interested in a same day crown, please give our practice a call.

The Discussion For Today Is:

Dental Implants

A dental implant is a metal device designed to replace missing teeth. The device is usually constructed of titanium and is surgically placed into the jawbone where the teeth are missing. An implant is permanent, unlike a dental bridge.

Crowns and conventional bridges or dentures may not be your only options when replacing missing teeth. For some people, dental implants offer a smile that feels and look very natural. Surgically put below the gums over a series of visits, implants connect to the jawbone and function as a base for bridges or a denture, individual replacement teeth.

Implants provide stability due to the fact that they connect to your bone, a process called osseointegration. Integration of these implants into your jaw also helps your replacement teeth feel more natural and some individuals also find the secure fit is more comfortable than conventional alternatives. Candidates for dental implants have to have healthy gums and adequate bone to support the implant.

How Involving Is A Dental Implant?

A dental implant might be an option to replace a missing tooth. In this treatment, a little titanium shaft is surgically {placed|implanted into the bone and allowed to set. The bone grows around it forming a tight connection, which additionally slows or stops the bone loss that takes place when the root of a natural tooth is missing. Once the implant is firmly set in the mouth, the dentist then works to connect the replacement tooth onto the top of the shaft. This permanent option has the advantages over bridge work that it does not stress the surrounding teeth for support, and, should the tooth break, another can simply be replaced on the shaft.

Implants can also be used as support as part of an implant bridge. This is an alternative to partial dentures, and has numerous advantages. First, there is no adjustment period to acclimatize the client who, as soon as the work is done, only feels teeth, not metal supports intruding into the mouth. Second, this slows the bone loss occasioned by missing teeth. Third, there is no pain or difficulty in eating. And, best of all, of course, they don't need to be taken out all the time.
