SAME DAY DENTAL CROWNS
BLACKSTOCK SOUTH CAROLINA

Our practice likes brand-new innovations, specifically when it improves the dental care that we can offer to our clients. Because of this we now provide same day crowns.

Same day crowns are a fantastic brand-new innovation where lovely all porcelain crowns are developed within two hours of the prep work of a tooth for a crown. The old process was where the dentist prepared your tooth for a crown, took an impression and sent this impression to a lab to have the crown constructed. Throughout this time the client would need to wear a temporary plastic crown that was always uncomfortable.

Today, our devices enables us to scan the tooth preparation and mill out a brand-new all porcelain crown within two hours. This means that the client leaves our practice with the permanent crown that day!

  • There's no need to wear a temporary crown for 2 or 3 weeks.

  • There is no need to return again to have the one day crown placed on your tooth.

  • There is no need to be numbed again! No more needles!

Our office chooses same day crowns since it is made of beautiful material as well as incredibly durable.

If your interested in a same day crown, please give our practice a call.

Same Day Tooth Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take exact digital images of locations needing restoration and produce the proper restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in simply one visit. We will create and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to produce your crown.

CEREC can be used for a broad range of indications: posterior crowns, anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays and partial crowns.

Today's Subject Is:

Endodontic Treatment (Root Canal)

Root canal treatment (also described as root canal therapy or endodontic therapy) is required when a cavity is allowed, through neglect, to reach all the way to the root pulp. (Regular cleanings and checkups prevent and identify problems early). In some cases deep restorations or trauma to a tooth might also cause the nerve to be damaged to the point it requires root canal treatment. As soon as this takes place, the pulp becomes infected, and can even extend through the root tip and begin to eat away at the surrounding bone (this is an abscess).

By the time the pulp is infected it should be treated, and can not heal by itself. It can even damage the entire immune system. This is dangerous, and might be really uncomfortable. Signs that the pulp has actually ended up being infected may consist of sensitivity to hot/cold or sugary foods, discomfort, swelling, discomfort to biting or pressure, and a bad taste in the mouth. Sometimes, however, no signs appear and the person is unaware of any problem up until a checkup.

A root canal is then performed to clear out the infected tooth pulp, and disinfect the canals of the tooth. The only other treatment would be to extract the tooth. As soon as the infection is dealt with, the canal(s) are filled in to prevent any further infection. Generally a core build-up and crown is suggested for recovering a tooth that has had root canal treatment.
