What Is So Great About Single Visit Crowns?

In a normal dental practice, receiving dental crowns is a long and often an unpleasant process that can take a number of weeks to finish. However, our practice uses same day crown innovation, which allows us to scan, design, and mill stunning tooth-colored crowns in one day.

Imagine entering our dental office to get a crown and leaving the same day with a strong, resilient, and visually pleasing crown already in place. Call us today to find out more!

The Same Day Crown Process

During your appointment, you and your dental practitioner will go over the details of the treatment and your dentist will address any concerns you may have. Your dental practitioner will then use a thin layer of reflective powder onto your tooth and will use a unique 3D imaging camera to take a image of your tooth. Using the new software, your restoration will be created according to your tooth's proper form and function.

Then, the mill will use diamond burs to create your restoration out of a piece of ceramic. Lastly, the ceramic restoration is bonded to your tooth using cutting edge adhesive dentistry.

Same Day Tooth Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take accurate digital images of areas requiring restoration and produce the proper restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in simply one visit. We will create and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to make your crown.

CEREC can be used in a broad scope of indications: onlays, partial crowns, posterior crowns, anterior crowns, veneers and inlays.

Today Were Talking About:

Dental Bonding (Composite)

Bonding is a procedure where we apply a tooth-colored composite product to a tooth, shape it, allow it to harden, and polish it. It can be utilized in certain circumstances where a tooth has actually been broken or ended up being stained. These are typically small repairs, ones that can be resolved through this fairly inexpensive means rather than through a more expensive dental treatment.

How It Works:
Bonding includes adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth. This is done to fix damage done to the tooth by decay, to change the alignment of the tooth, close spaces between the teeth, or for cosmetic purposes. First the surface of the tooth is roughened in order to accept the bonding and hold it. A gel is applied to micro etch the tooth surface, and a primer/bond agent is applied so the material adheres to the surface. Then the material itself is placed on the tooth and hardened with intense light. The composite resin material is shaped and polished to obtain a glossy finish as a last step.
