If you have a fractured or broken tooth, are experiencing pain when chewing or exposed to hot or cold temperatures, or wish to remove unsightly metal crowns or fillings, then dental crowns might be an excellent alternative for you. Dental Crowns cover the outter surface area of the affected tooth, adding resilience and stability to it.

Same-day dental crowns are an option that we provide on a case by case basis to patients who would gain from the procedure. They allow patients to come to our office and leave within a couple hours with their final dental crown in place that same day. This eliminates the need to have a short-term crown placed and then another visit arranged for the positioning of the permanent crown.

Our Same-Day Crowns are made with our new innovation that scans the mouth to obtain the appropriate measurements of your tooth and surrounding teeth, and then makes your crown right there in the office. These restorations are very strong and long lasting and made out of the highest quality porcelain available. In some cases, a gold crown might be advised for your posterior teeth (back teeth) if you grind or clinch your teeth a lot.

Gold crowns are different from porcelain crowns, and the cost may vary between the two and you might wish to discuss your budget plan as well with the your dentist. Your dental practitioner will discuss with you the types of crowns available and give you a suggestion based on your particular circumstance.

Today We Will Be Discussing:

Teeth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the top aesthetic concern of a lot of clients, there are a number of methods to bleach teeth. The most popular technique is using a home tooth whitening system that will whiten teeth dramatically. Because tooth lightening just works on natural tooth enamel, it is very important to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, etc. Replacement of any restorations will be done after whitening so they will match the recently bleached teeth.

Most dentists utilize multiple techniques: custom made tray bleaching, professional strength white strips, and in-office lightening.

The tray technique involves having impressions taken, which the laboratory produces into custom vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is put in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The whole procedure takes about a week of daily use. Three various strengths of gel may be utilized, however, the higher the strength, the higher the probability of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray technique is advised for badly stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take multiple months of use to see considerable color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a very quick and hassle-free lightening process. The visit is approximately one hour including both the preparation and treatment. Our patients enjoy this treatment because it is so simple and fast!

Tooth bleaching is not permanent. A touch-up might be required once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For upkeep of whitened teeth the trays should be utilized every few months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of external tooth layer.

  • Florousis (excessive fluoridation during tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, and so on).
