If you have a fractured or broken tooth, are experiencing discomfort when chewing or exposed to hot or cold temperature levels, or want to eliminate unsightly metal crowns or fillings, then dental crowns might be a good alternative for you. Dental Crowns cover the visible surface area of the affected tooth, adding durability and stability to it.

Same-day dental crowns are a choice that we offer on a case by case basis to clients who would gain from the procedure. They enable patients to come to our office and leave within a couple hours with their permanent dental crown in place that same day. This removes the need to have a temporary crown placed then another appointment arranged for the placement of the permanent crown.

Our Same-Day Crowns are made with our new innovation that scans the mouth to get the appropriate measurements of your tooth and surrounding teeth, and then makes your crown right there in the office. These restorations are extremely strong and resilient and made out of the highest quality porcelain available. In many cases, a gold crown might be recommended for your posterior teeth (back teeth) if you grind or clench your teeth a lot.

Gold crowns are different from porcelain crowns, and the expense may differ between the two and you may want to discuss your budget plan too with the your dental practitioner. Your dentist will discuss with you the types of crowns available and give you a recommendation based on your certain circumstance.

Call us to arrange a complimentary cosmetic consultation. We look forward to talking to you.

The Discussion Of The Day Is:

TMJ (Temporal-Mandibular Joint)

TMJ stands for temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Issues in this joint may be triggered by a misalignment of the teeth, trauma, or excess muscle tension. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and 5 muscles are involved in the area. If something fails a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can cause:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Trouble or soreness in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, often extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can include replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling gaps in between teeth, and so on. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. Often a plastic mouth piece is utilized to prevent clenching or grinding that is adding to the issue. If neglected and required to extremes, surgery may be needed to fix a severely damaged joint.
