CROWNS IN A DAY
DRY CREEK MS

Updated On Thursday, January 17, 2019 08:40:01 PM

At our dental practice we do same day crowns. You may ask, exactly what are same day crowns and what can it provide for me?

It is a 3D system that lets us make porcelain crowns and inlays all in one appointment. We have now been using this innovation for multiple years and love it more than ever.

Same day crowns are an in-surgery computer system that allows us to change damaged or missing tooth structures with a ceramic product that's as close to a natural tooth as is possible.

This is done while you remain in the practice, in just one appointment. All ceramic porcelain inlays and onlays, veneers and crowns that look and feel like natural teeth can be made and fitted in a single appointment, normally in about an hour.

So what is the procedure?

We scan the opposite teeth and the way the teeth bite together first. We remove the old filling, and degeneration and any thin weak tooth product and scan the readied tooth.

After this we quit working in the mouth and begin working with the computer.

Everybody likes seeing the pictures of their teeth and the developing of their new tooth. We make 3D design and this info is sent out to the milling unit.

Everybody asks if this is like 3D printing and yes it is, but the tooth is not developed layer by layer, it is cut from a block in the device, which is much more durable.

The block is then precisely sculpted to produce your brand-new restoration, which is great.

At last, the customized crown restoration bonded perfectly into the tooth, enhancing and sealing it at the same time and then we tidy up!

We have to ensure that you can bite correctly, that its smooth and that you can floss.

Same Day Crowns Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take precise digital imagery of areas needing restoration and produce the suitable restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in simply one visit. We will create and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer need to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to fabricate your crown.

CEREC can be used for a broad range of indications: inlays, onlays, partial crowns, posterior crowns, anterior crowns and veneers.

Today Were Discussing:

Endodontic Treatment (Root Canal)

Root canal treatment (also described as root canal therapy or endodontic therapy) is needed when a cavity is allowed, through neglect, to reach all the way to the root pulp. (Regular cleanings and checkups prevent and find problems early). In some cases deep restorations or trauma to a tooth may also trigger the nerve to be harmed to the point it needs root canal treatment. When this takes place, the pulp ends up being infected, and can even extend through the root tip and begin to eat away at the surrounding bone (this is an abscess).

By the time the pulp is infected it needs to be treated, and can not recover on its own. It can even damage the entire immune system. This is dangerous, and may be really painful. Signs that the pulp has become infected might include sensitivity to hot/cold or sweets, pain, swelling, discomfort to biting or pressure, and a bad taste in the mouth. Sometimes, however, no symptoms are apparent and the person is unaware of any problem till a checkup.

A root canal is then carried out to clear out the infected tooth pulp, and disinfect the canals of the tooth. The only other treatment would be to extract the tooth. As soon as the infection is resolved, the canal(s) are filled in to prevent any further infection. Usually a core build-up and crown is suggested for restoring a tooth that has had root canal therapy.
