ONE DAY DENTAL CROWNS
LANCASTER SOUTH CAROLINA

Updated On Tuesday, October 23, 2018 07:41:41 PM

Our practice loves brand-new technology, especially when it enhances the dental care that we can offer to our clients. Because of this we now provide same day crowns.

Same day crowns are a fantastic new technology where lovely all porcelain crowns are produced within two hours of the prep work of a tooth for a crown. The old process was where the dentist prepared your tooth for a crown, took an impression and sent this impression to a lab to get the crown constructed. During this time the client would need to wear a temporary plastic crown that was always uncomfortable.

Today, our devices allows us to scan the tooth preparation and mill out a brand-new all porcelain crown within two hours. This means that the client leaves our practice with the final crown that day!

  • There is no need to have a temporary crown for two or three weeks.

  • There is no need to return once again to have the single day crown inserted on your tooth.

  • There is no need to be numbed once more! No more shot needles!

Our office prefers same day crowns since it is made of lovely material and also incredibly resilient.

If your interested in a same day crown, please give our office a call.

Today's Topic Is:

Dental Implants

A dental implant is a metal device created to replace missing teeth. The device is generally constructed out of titanium and is surgically placed into the jawbone where the teeth are missing. An implant is permanent, unlike a dental bridge.

Crowns and traditional bridges or dentures may not be your only options when replacing missing teeth. For some individuals, dental implants provide a smile that feels and look very natural. Surgically put below the gums over a series of visits, implants connect to the jawbone and work as a base for bridges or a denture, individual replacement teeth.

Implants provide stability due to the fact that they fuse to your bone, a process called osseointegration. Integration of these implants into your jaw also helps your replacement teeth feel more natural and some people also find the secure fit is more comfy than conventional replacements. Candidates for dental implants should have healthy gums and adequate bone to support the implant.

What's Involved In Having A Dental Implant?

A dental implant may be an option to replace a missing tooth. In this treatment, a small titanium shaft is surgically {placed|implanted into the bone and allowed to set. The bone grows around it forming a tight connection, which in addition slows or stops the bone loss that takes place when the root of a natural tooth is missing. Once the implant is securely set in the mouth, the dentist then works to attach the replacement tooth onto the top of the shaft. This permanent solution has the advantages over bridge work that it does not need the surrounding teeth for support, and, should the tooth break, another can simply be replaced on the shaft.

Implants can also be utilized as support as part of an implant bridge. This is an option to partial dentures, and has a number of benefits. First, there is no adjustment period to acclimatize the client who, when the work is done, only feels teeth, not metal supports intruding into the mouth. Second, this slows the bone loss occasioned by missing teeth. Third, there is no discomfort or difficulty in eating. And, best of all, of course, they do not need to be taken out all the time.
