Why Are They Called Same Day Crowns?

This cutting edge innovation allows your dental practitioner to take precise images of your tooth and use those images to design, manufacture, and place a porcelain or zirconia crown in a single visit. Same day crowns provide exceptional benefits, value, and accuracy to our clients.

How Does The Same Day Crown Technology Work?

The same day crown process consists of 3 basic steps. First, your dentist uses 3D imaging to take highly precise photos of your tooth and the surrounding structures. Next, they then download these images into a computer and, using computer-assisted design software, develops your custom-fitted crown. From there, your dentist will send the design to their in-office precision milling machine which creates the crown from a block of dental porcelain or zirconia. Once they stain and glaze the crown for extra strength and esthetics, your dentist will put it on your tooth.

Exactly What Are The Advantages Of Same Day Crowns?

We just use dental porcelain and zirconia to create our same day crowns. These metal-free restorations offer incomparable toughness, sturdiness, chip and stain resistance, and natural beauty.

Precision-fitted same day crowns need less tooth preparation and maintain more of your tooth structure.

Standard crowns need two office appointments. With same day crowns, you can come to our dentist's office for an appointment and leave with a beautifully fixed tooth.

You can avoid the inconvenience and potential risks related to uncomfortable short-term crowns.

Today We Will Be Talking About:

Fillings

Fillings are done to remove decay, and replace the affected tooth structure. It is called a filling because new material fills the hole that the decay left. Now days most teeth are treated with bonded tooth colored composite resin fillings. Caught early enough, cavities can be treated easily and painlessly. If not treated, decay can cause tooth discomfort and/or infection, and the tooth would require a root canal treatment or extraction.

There are 2 kinds of fillings; amalgam or silver fillings, and composite or white fillings. Composite fillings are tooth-colored to blend in with the remaining natural part of the tooth. Most dentists supply both kinds of fillings, but find that a lot of their clients choose the composite fillings.

The term composite refers to the actual filling material which is a mix of glass or quartz filler in a resin medium.

Composite fillings provide great toughness and resistance to fracture in small-to-mid size restorations that have to withstand moderate chewing pressure. Less tooth structure is eliminated when the dentist prepares the tooth, and this might lead to a smaller filling than with of an amalgam.

In addition, composites are "bonded", or adhesively attached, to the tooth, frequently allowing a more conservative repair for the tooth. Composite fillings require that the tooth be kept clean and dry during the whole filling procedure and they are subject to stain and staining with time. The life span of a white filling can depend greatly on where it is in your mouth and how heavily your teeth come together when you bite.

Composite filling material is also frequently utilized to fix front teeth that have actually broken or worn. Where possible, esthetic bonding of composite material to front teeth is generally much less expensive than veneers or crowns. However, bonding generally does not last as long as veneers or crowns.
