Why Are These Crowns Called Same Day Crowns?

This cutting edge technology enables your dental practitioner to take precise images of your tooth and use those images to design, manufacture, and position a porcelain or zirconia crown in a single visit. Same day crowns offer exceptional convenience, value, and precision to our patients.

How Does The Same Day Crown Technology Work?

The same day crown process consists of 3 basic steps. First, your dental practitioner uses 3D imaging to take highly precise pictures of your tooth and the surrounding structures. Second, she downloads these images into a computer and, using computer-assisted design software, develops your custom-fitted crown. 3rd, your dental practitioner will send out the design to their in-office accuracy milling machine which produces the crown out of a block of dental porcelain or zirconia. Once they stain and glaze the crown for additional strength and esthetics, your dentist will put it on your tooth.

Exactly What Are The Advantages Of Same Day Crowns?

We just use dental porcelain and zirconia to produce our same day crowns. These metal-free restorations provide unparalleled toughness, sturdiness, chip and stain resistance, and natural appeal.

Precision-fitted same day crowns need less tooth preparation and maintain more of your tooth structure.

Traditional crowns need two office appointments. With same day crowns, you can come into our dentist's office for an appointment and leave with a magnificently restored tooth.

You can avoid the trouble and possible threats connected with uncomfortable temporary crowns.

The Topic Of The Day Is:

Fillings

Fillings are done to remove decay, and replace the affected tooth structure. It is called a filling because brand-new material fills the hole that the decay left. Now days most teeth are treated with bonded tooth colored composite resin fillings. Caught early enough, cavities can be treated easily and painlessly. If not treated, decay can cause tooth discomfort and/or infection, and the tooth would require a root canal treatment or extraction.

There are 2 kinds of fillings; amalgam or silver fillings, and composite or white fillings. Composite fillings are tooth-colored to blend in with the remaining natural part of the tooth. Most dentists offer both kinds of fillings, however find that a lot of their patients prefer the composite fillings.

The term composite refers to the actual filling material which is a mix of glass or quartz filler in a resin medium.

Composite fillings supply good toughness and resistance to fracture in small-to-mid size restorations that need to stand up to moderate chewing pressure. Less tooth structure is removed when the dentist prepares the tooth, and this might lead to a smaller sized filling than with of an amalgam.

In addition, composites are "bonded", or adhesively connected, to the tooth, typically allowing a more conservative repair for the tooth. Composite fillings require that the tooth be kept clean and dry throughout the entire filling procedure and they are subject to stain and discoloration in time. The life span of a white filling can depend greatly on where it is in your mouth and how heavily your teeth come together when you bite.

Composite filling material is also commonly utilized to fix front teeth that have actually cracked or worn. Where possible, esthetic bonding of composite material to front teeth is generally much less expensive than veneers or crowns. However, bonding normally does not last as long as veneers or crowns.
