Single Visit Crowns And Teeth Restorations

Do you have to get a dental crown? Or will you soon be needing a dental treatment that will cause you to require a dental crown? If so, you may be starting to dread the time you will have to invest at the dental practitioner's office. At our dental practice, we offer a great time-saving solution for you. We offer same day crowns at our practice!

At our practice we are proud to have professional and highly-trained dental practitioners on staff. At our dental practice we include advanced technology and treatments to supply our patients with the very best restorative, precautionary, implant, and cosmetic dentistry care. For patients who have to get dental crowns, we are really delighted to be able to offer same day crowns.

Crowns and caps are 2 different names for the same thing. A dental crown is a restoration that is normally made from porcelain. It is a strong structure that is used to cover a tooth on all 4 sides to help strengthen the tooth and enhance its function.

Crowns can also be used to connect bridges, as the top portion of a dental implant, or to prevent a damaged tooth from ending up being weaker. Crowns can also be used to strengthen a tooth after a root canal treatment.

Crowns are also used for purely visual reasons, such as to cover a significantly stained tooth that has to be restored to its initial, attractive look.

Normally getting a dental crown is a lengthy procedure. The dental practitioner will need to take impressions, provide you with a temporary crown, await the crown to be returned from a laboratory, then have you come back to the office so that it can be permanently attached. Today at our practice patients can get same day crowns in about two hours.

Our same day crowns are developed in our practice thanks to our CAD-CAM innovation.

CAD-CAM means "computer-aided-design-computer-aided-manufacture." Computers are used to take pictures which are then computer-analyzed and used to produce a crown.

This crown is actually milled by a computer in our office. The crown will fit your mouth precisely and get rid of any need to send impressions or photos to an outside lab.

All this is done while you wait, getting rid of the need to come back for a second visit.

You also will not have to get a temporary crown, since our permanent crown will be instantly offered to you.

If you would like to meet our dental practitioner to learn more about same day crowns or to get a same day crown, contact our office.

Same Day Crown Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take precise digital imagery of areas needing restoration and produce the appropriate restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in simply one visit. We will create and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. The Topic For Today Will Be:

Temporal Mandibular Joint

TMJ means temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Problems in this joint may be triggered by a misalignment of the teeth, injury, or excess muscle stress. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and five muscles are involved in the area. If something goes wrong a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can trigger:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Trouble or soreness in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, in some cases extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can consist of replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling gaps in between teeth, and so on. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. Sometimes a plastic mouth piece is utilized to prevent clenching or grinding that is adding to the problem. If neglected and taken to extremes, surgery may be needed to repair a severely damaged joint.
