What Is So Special About Single Visit Dental Crowns?

In a normal dental practice, receiving dental crowns is a long and frequently an uncomfortable process that can take a number of weeks to complete. However, our practice uses same day crown technology, which enables us to scan, design, and mill beautiful tooth-colored crowns in one day.

Imagine coming into our dental office to get a crown and leaving the same day with a strong, resilient, and visually pleasing crown already in place. Call us today for additional information!

The Same Day Crown Process

During your appointment, you and your dental practitioner will talk about the information of the treatment and your dental practitioner will address any concerns you might have. Your dental practitioner will then apply a thin layer of reflective powder onto your tooth and will use a unique 3D imaging camera to take a picture of your tooth. Using the new software, your restoration will be developed according to your tooth's proper form and function.

Then, the mill will use diamond burs to produce your restoration out of a piece of ceramic. Finally, the ceramic restoration is bonded to your tooth using cutting edge adhesive dentistry.

Same Day Crown Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take accurate digital images of areas requiring restoration and produce the proper restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in just one visit. We will design and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the laboratory to produce your crown.

CEREC can be used for a wide range of indications: inlays, onlays, partial crowns, posterior crowns, anterior crowns and veneers.

Today's Subject Is:

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental problems.

Identifying issues with x-rays before they become problems can save you money in the long run by preventing the requirement for more extensive, pricey procedures or surgeries. X-rays are mainly used to find:

  • Cysts (fluid filled sacks at the base of your teeth).

  • Impacted teeth.

  • Teeth that are still coming in.

  • Tumors, both cancerous and non-cancerous.

  • Internal tooth decay.

Most dentists use digital x-rays, which have numerous advantages over conventional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays enable us to take x-rays with 1/5 of the radiation that you would receive from traditional dental x-rays. The worry of exposure to excess radiation is removed.

Big on-screen X-rays make patient communication more effective. The immediate observation of the images on the screen enables us to discuss your dental health quickly and precisely.

Digital radiography has significantly enhanced the practice of dentistry. It enables the client and the medical professional to see images of the teeth in higher resolution on a huge format for easier detection of issues, all while decreasing the radiation direct exposure to the patient. The process we use further defines the radiograph, resulting in clinically meaningful images that are sharp, detailed and rich in contrast.

Images are available immediately after exposure, getting rid of the wait and effort spent developing and mounting x-rays. If an image needs to be retaken, it can be done instantly. Digital format also enables us to send out and get your images electronically for consultation that can be provided to you quickly.
