The Advantages Of Getting Same Day Crowns Are:

  • It is time-saving. It enables you to have your dental crown put in place in simply one dental appointment.

  • Its material is biocompatible. Same day crowns use ceramic which imitates the appearance of your natural teeth therefore making it aesthetically pleasing. It does not cause temperature sensitivity which holds true in the case of dental crowns made from metals.

  • It is durable. Same day crowns have the same toughness as those made from gold materials.

  • It is more precise. The impression made from this new innovation is more precise as compared to standard impressions.

  • Taking dental impression is more comfortable. Same day crowns use intraoral camera and CAD to take the impression of the tooth while traditional dental impression is done using sodium alignate.

The only downside of a same day crown is that not all patients are candidates for this procedure. Patients with substantial tooth damage that has reached the gum line requires a standard crown rather than a same day crown. Also, the damage in the front tooth needs a laboratory-manufactured crown since they are meticulously made than same day crowns.

If you are interested with this kind of procedure or you have more questions or concerns regarding same day crowns, call us today.

The Topic For Today Is:

Teeth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the top aesthetic concern of most patients, there are multiple ways to bleach teeth. The most popular method is using a home tooth lightening system that will bleach teeth significantly. Because tooth whitening only works on natural tooth enamel, it is essential to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, etc. Replacement of any restorations will be done after whitening so they will match the freshly bleached teeth.

Most dentists use numerous approaches: custom made tray bleaching, professional strength white strips, and in-office lightening.

The tray approach involves having impressions taken, which the lab produces into custom vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is placed in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The whole process takes about a week of day-to-day use. 3 different strengths of gel may be used, however, the greater the strength, the higher the possibility of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray method is recommended for severely stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take numerous months of use to see substantial color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a very quick and convenient lightening process. The visit is roughly one hour consisting of both the preparation and treatment. Our clients like this treatment since it is so easy and fast!

Tooth lightening is not permanent. A touch-up might be needed once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For upkeep of whitened teeth the trays should be utilized every couple of months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of external tooth layer.

  • Florousis (extreme fluoridation throughout tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, and so on).
