Same Day Crowns

Same day crown technology plays an essential function in our practice. This remarkable development in chair side dentistry offers us the tools to create, produce, and place crowns, inlays and onlays in a single visit.

The Same Day Crown Difference

The conventional approach to a crown or inlay and onlay frequently required a return visit after the patient waited (with a short-term restoration in the tooth) for about two weeks while the restoration was made in a separate lab. Same day crown CAD/CAM technology eliminates the wait!

How Do Same Day Crowns Work?

Same day crowns employ a special camera to take an precise image of the broken tooth. This optical impression is moved and shown on a color computer screen, where the dental practitioner utilizes CAD (computer-aided design) software to design the restoration.

Then CAM (computer-aided manufacturing) takes control of and immediately mills the restoration while the client waits. Finally, the new restoration is bonded in place.

The entire procedure takes about one hour, and there are no bothersome temporaries or 2nd visit required!

Proven Technology

With 20 years of clinical research and more than 20 million restorations performed worldwide, same day crowns have actually proven to be a an reliable, safe and hassle-free innovation that we are delighted to provide to our clients.

Today We Will Be Going Over:

Dental Crowns

A crown (or cap) is a covering that covers the whole tooth surface area restoring it to its initial shape and size. A crown protects and strengthens the tooth structure providing the tooth a longer life span than it would have if recovered by fillings or other kinds of restorations.

Crowns are full coverage restorations that are used to cover a tooth that is most likely to break, or is too broken down to be brought back with a filling. They are most frequently done after root canal treatments, or when a big filling breaks. The larger the hole made by a cavity that needs to be treated, the more likely a crown will be required. Even after a filling is put in a big cavity, a tooth is most likely to break. Keep in mind that the jaw muscles are the strongest in the body. Teeth go through incredible pressures. Crowns sit over the weakened tooth, offering strength and protecting the tooth against breakage. A busted or cracked tooth is a much more serious matter and a lot more hard to treat. Crowns prevent this, in addition to making for a good smile.

It takes 2 appointments to bring back a tooth with a crown. In the first appointment any decay is eliminated from the tooth and it is shaped to accept the crown. Then an impression is made of the tooth for use in producing a crown. In between the two visits the crown is made, generally of high-strength porcelain over gold alloy, all ceramic material, or gold. A temporary crown is used throughout this time. In the 2nd visit this temporary crown is removed. Then the {permanent crown is adjusted as needed and then cemented in place.

What Does Getting A Crown Include?

A crown treatment normally requires two visits. Your very first appointment will include taking impressions that will be utilized to produce your custom crown. A mold will also be utilized to develop a temporary crown which will stay on your tooth for around 2 weeks till your new crown is fabricated by a dental lab.

While the tooth is numb, the dental practitioner will prepare the tooth by eliminating any decay and forming the surface to effectively fit the crown. As soon as these details are accomplished, your temporary crown will be positioned with temporary cement and your bite will be inspected to ensure you are biting appropriately.

At your second appointment your temporary crown will be removed, the tooth will be cleaned, and your brand-new crown will be carefully placed to guarantee the spacing and bite are accurate.

You will be given care guidelines and encouraged to have routine dental check ups to check your crown. As always, proper oral hygiene will help extend the life of your new crown.
