Don't have time for the routine 2 dental visit crown?

Technology today is altering our daily lives. Many individuals, however, aren't aware that technology also is impacting dentistry in brand-new and exciting methods.

Cutting-edge innovations in dental instruments are requiring less time in the dental chair, triggering less pain and producing satisfying outcomes.

One breakthrough instrument, called same day crowns, enables dental practitioners to quickly restore damaged teeth with natural-colored ceramic fillings, saving patients time and trouble.

What are Same Day Crowns?

Same day crowns, indicates that a dentist can quickly restore broken teeth in a single appointment using a top quality ceramic material that matches the natural color of other teeth.

How does it work?

Same day crowns use CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing) innovation, incorporating a camera, computer, and milling machine in one instrument.

The dental practitioner uses a special camera to take an accurate photo of the broken tooth. This optical impression is moved and shown on a color computer screen, where the dental practitioner uses CAD innovation to design the restoration. The CAM takes control and immediately produces the restoration while the patient waits.

At lastly, the dental practitioner bonds the new restoration to the surface of the old tooth. The entire procedure takes about two hours.

What does this development do for a patient?

A tooth-colored restoration indicates no more silver fillings tarnishing smiles. The filling is natural-looking, suitable with tissue in the mouth, anti-abrasive and plaque-resistant.

Dentists don't need to develop temporaries or take impressions and send them to a lab. Because of this, the conventional 2nd appointment has been eliminated.

Same day crowns have twenty years of clinical research study and documentation to support the innovation. The restorations have been shown precise, safe and efficient.

How can I discover if this is an alternative for me?

Call our practice today and we will be happy to answer your concerns on this new technology.

Today's Discussion Has To Do With:

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental problems.

Detecting issues with x-rays before they become problems can save you money in the long run by preventing the need for more extensive, costly treatments or surgeries. X-rays are primarily used to detect:

  • Cysts (fluid filled sacks at the base of your teeth).

  • Impacted teeth.

  • Teeth that are still coming in.

  • Tumors, both cancerous and non-cancerous.

  • Internal tooth decay.

Most dentists use digital x-rays, which have a number of advantages over conventional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays allow us to take x-rays with 1/5 of the radiation that you would receive from conventional dental x-rays. The worry of direct exposure to excess radiation is removed.

Huge on-screen X-rays make patient communication more efficient. The immediate observation of the images on the screen allows us to discuss your dental health quickly and precisely.

Digital radiography has greatly improved the practice of dentistry. It enables the patient and the doctor to see images of the teeth in greater resolution on a large format for easier detection of issues, all while decreasing the radiation direct exposure to the client. The procedure we use further defines the radiograph, resulting in clinically meaningful images that are sharp, detailed and rich in contrast.

Images are available instantly after exposure, removing the wait and effort spent establishing and mounting x-rays. If an image needs to be retaken, it can be done right away. Digital format also enables us to send out and receive your images digitally for consultation that can be provided to you quickly.
