Same Day Crowns

Same day crown technology plays an important function in our practice. This amazing innovation in chair side dentistry gives us the tools to develop, produce, and place crowns, inlays and onlays in a single visit.

The Same Day Crown Difference

The traditional approach to a crown or inlay and onlay frequently needed a return visit after the patient waited (with a temporary restoration in the tooth) for about two weeks while the restoration was manufactured in a separate lab. Same day crown CAD/CAM technology eliminates the wait!

How Do Same Day Crowns Work?

Same day crowns utilize a special camera to take an precise image of the damaged tooth. This optical impression is transferred and displayed on a color computer screen, where the dental practitioner utilizes CAD (computer-aided design) software to create the restoration.

Then CAM (computer-aided manufacturing) takes control of and automatically mills the restoration while the patient waits. Finally, the new restoration is bonded in place.

The entire process takes about one hour, and there are no annoying temporaries or 2nd appointment needed!

Proven Technology

With two decades of clinical research study and more than 20 million restorations performed worldwide, same day crowns have actually shown to be a an efficient, safe and hassle-free technology that we are delighted to provide to our patients.

The Conversation For Today Will Be:

Teeth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the number one aesthetic concern of most patients, there are numerous ways to whiten teeth. The most popular technique is using a home tooth whitening system that will bleach teeth dramatically. Because tooth bleaching only works on natural tooth enamel, it is essential to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, and so on. Replacement of any restorations will be done after whitening so they will match the freshly bleached teeth.

Most dentists use multiple approaches: customizeded tray bleaching, professional strength white strips, and in-office lightening.

The tray technique involves having impressions taken, which the lab fabricates into custom vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is placed in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The entire process takes about a week of everyday use. 3 different strengths of gel might be utilized, however, the higher the strength, the greater the probability of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray approach is advised for severely stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it might take numerous months of use to see considerable color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a very quick and practical whitening procedure. The visit is around one hour including both the preparation and treatment. Our clients love this treatment because it is so easy and fast!

Tooth bleaching is not permanent. A touch-up might be required once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For upkeep of whitened teeth the trays should be utilized every couple of months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of outer tooth layer.

  • Florousis (excessive fluoridation during tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, and so on).
