Same Day Crowns

Same day crown technology plays an important function in our practice. This amazing innovation in chair side dentistry provides us the tools to design, produce, and place crowns, inlays and onlays in a single appointment.

The Same Day Crown Difference

The conventional technique to a crown or inlay and onlay frequently required a return visit after the client waited (with a short-term restoration in the tooth) for about 2 weeks while the restoration was made in a different laboratory. Same day crown CAD/CAM technology eliminates the wait!

How Do Same Day Crowns Work?

Same day crowns use a special camera to take an precise image of the broken tooth. This optical impression is transferred and displayed on a color computer screen, where the dental practitioner uses CAD (computer-aided design) software to create the restoration.

Then CAM (computer-aided manufacturing) takes over and immediately mills the restoration while the patient waits. Finally, the new restoration is bonded in place.

The whole procedure takes about one hour, and there are no irritating temporaries or second appointment required!

Proven Technology

With twenty years of clinical research study and more than 20 million restorations carried out worldwide, same day crowns have actually proven to be a an reliable, safe and hassle-free technology that we are delighted to offer to our patients.

Same Day Crowns Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take precise digital images of locations needing restoration and produce the suitable restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in just one visit. We will create and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. Temporal Mandibular Joint

TMJ means temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Problems in this joint might be caused by a misalignment of the teeth, injury, or excess muscle stress. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and five muscles are associated with the area. If something fails a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can cause:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Trouble in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, often extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can consist of replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling spaces between teeth, and so on. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. Sometimes a plastic mouth piece is utilized to prevent clenching or grinding that is adding to the issue. If unattended and taken to extremes, surgery might be needed to repair a terribly damaged joint.
