One Day Crowns And Teeth Restorations

Do you need to get a dental crown? Or will you quickly be requiring a dental procedure that will cause you to need a dental crown? If so, you may be beginning to fear the time you will need to spend at the dental practitioner's office. At our dental practice, we provide a excellent time-saving solution for you. We provide same day crowns at our practice!

At our practice we are proud to have professional and highly-trained dental practitioners on staff. At our dental practice we include state-of-the-art innovations and procedures to provide our clients with the best restorative, preventive, implant, and cosmetic dentistry care. For patients who need to get dental crowns, we are extremely delighted to be able to provide same day crowns.

Crowns and caps are two different names for the same thing. A dental crown is a restoration that is typically made from porcelain. It is a strong structure that is used to cover a tooth on all four sides to help strengthen the tooth and improve its function.

Crowns can also be used to attach bridges, as the top portion of a dental implant, or to prevent a broken tooth from becoming weaker. Crowns can also be used to strengthen a tooth after a root canal procedure.

Crowns are also used for purely aesthetic reasons, such as to cover a significantly stained tooth that has to be brought back to its original, attractive look.

Normally getting a dental crown is a lengthy treatment. The dental practitioner will have to take impressions, offer you with a temporary crown, wait for the crown to be returned from a lab, then have you go back to the office so that it can be permanently connected. Today at our practice patients can get same day crowns in about 2 hours.

Our same day crowns are produced in our office thanks to our CAD-CAM technology.

CAD-CAM means "computer-aided-design-computer-aided-manufacture." Computers are used to take pictures which are then computer-analyzed and used to develop a crown.

This crown is really milled by a computer in our office. The crown will fit your mouth precisely and eliminate any need to send impressions or images to an outside lab.

All this is done while you wait, getting rid of the need to return for a second appointment.

You also will not have to get a short-term crown, because our permanent crown will be immediately available to you.

If you would like to meet with our dental practitioner to find out more about same day crowns or to obtain a same day crown, call our practice.

TMJ stands for temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Problems in this joint might be triggered by a misalignment of the teeth, injury, or excess muscle tension. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and 5 muscles are associated with the area. If something goes wrong a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can cause:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Soreness in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, sometimes extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can include replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling spaces between teeth, etc. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. Often a plastic mouth piece is utilized to prevent clenching or grinding that is contributing to the issue. If neglected and required to extremes, surgery may be required to repair a badly damaged joint.
