Requiring any type of dental work completed can seem like a hassel, but it is necessary to follow up on when it comes to preserving your oral health. When it comes to same day dental crowns that is simply not the case, as we can offer our clients with same day dental crowns should they require it.

Even though dental crowns are considered along with other procedures that fall under the cosmetic dentistry classification, they can help to greatly improve anybody's oral health. Dental crowns are mainly used to fix the size, shape, and function of a tooth. Most frequently, dental crowns are used following a root canal therapy treatment in which a part of the tooth mass is eliminated in order to get rid of decayed portions of the tooth. A dental crown is then used to help restore exactly what parts of the tooth were lost so that it can function as it once did, restoring the oral well being of the client.

In some cases, dental crowns take time to process and are crafted in a lab while the client wears a temporary crown in its stead. Now we can offer patients with same day dental crowns! Instead of needing to visit us multiple times prior to restoring your tooth, we can provide you with a crown the very same day that you come in to get one fitted.

Today We Will Be Going Over:

Fillings

Fillings are done to eliminate decay, and replace the affected tooth structure. It is called a filling because new material fills the hole that the decay left. Now days most teeth are treated with bonded tooth colored composite resin fillings. Caught early enough, cavities can be treated easily and painlessly. If not treated, decay can result in tooth pain and/or infection, and the tooth would need a root canal treatment or extraction.

There are two kinds of fillings; amalgam or silver fillings, and composite or white fillings. Composite fillings are tooth-colored to blend in with the remaining natural part of the tooth. Most dentists provide both types of fillings, but find that a number of their patients choose the composite fillings.

The term composite refers to the actual filling material which is a mixture of glass or quartz filler in a resin medium.

Composite fillings provide good sturdiness and resistance to fracture in small-to-mid size restorations that have to stand up to moderate chewing pressure. Less tooth structure is eliminated when the dental practitioner prepares the tooth, and this might result in a smaller sized filling than with of an amalgam.

In addition, composites are "bonded", or adhesively connected, to the tooth, commonly enabling a more conservative repair for the tooth. Composite fillings require that the tooth be kept clean and dry throughout the entire filling process and they go through stain and staining with time. The life expectancy of a white filling can depend considerably on where it is in your mouth and how heavily your teeth come together when you bite.

Composite filling material is also commonly used to repair front teeth that have actually chipped or worn. Where possible, esthetic bonding of composite material to front teeth is normally much less expensive than veneers or crowns. However, bonding normally does not last as long as veneers or crowns.
