The Advantages Of Getting Single Visit Crowns Are:

  • It is time-saving. It allows you to have your dental crown put in place in simply one dental appointment.

  • Its material is biocompatible. Same day crowns use ceramic which mimics the look of your natural teeth hence making it visually pleasing. It does not trigger temperature sensitivity which is true in the case of dental crowns made from metals.

  • It is durable. Same day crowns have the same durability as those made from gold materials.

  • It is more precise. The impression made from this new technology is more accurate compared with standard impressions.

  • Taking dental impression is more comfortable. Same day crowns use intraoral camera and CAD to take the impression of the tooth while standard dental impression is done using sodium alignate.

The only downside of a single visit crown is that not all patients are candidates for this treatment. Patients with extensive tooth damage that has reached the gum line requires a traditional crown rather than a same day crown. Also, the damage in the front tooth requires a laboratory-manufactured crown since they are diligently made than same day crowns.

If you are interested with this sort of treatment or you have further questions or concerns regarding same day crowns, call us today.

Today's Conversation Will Be About:

TMJ (Temporal Mandibular Joint)

TMJ means temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Issues in this joint might be triggered by a misalignment of the teeth, trauma, or excess muscle tension. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and 5 muscles are associated with the area. If something goes wrong a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can cause:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Soreness in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, often extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can consist of replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling spaces in between teeth, etc. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. In some cases a plastic mouth piece is used to prevent clenching or grinding that is adding to the problem. If unattended and required to extremes, surgery might be required to fix a severely damaged joint.
