Some Advantages Of Getting A Same Day Crown

Crowns are a typical dental treatment that is frequently needed when someone's tooth is broken or if the tooth has actually degraded to the point where a filling will not work.

Normal crowns are fairly bothersome to obtain, however there is an alternative. Same-day crowns are a great option because they are more convenient and lead to less discomfort:

Less Pain

A conventional crown can result in pain for a couple of factors, however one of the most significant sources of pain and discomfort is an outcome of having to use a temporary crown.

A temporary crown is used as a placeholder to safeguard your exposed tooth up until your permanent crown can be provided to your dentist. This can take anywhere from a couple of days to a few weeks.

The problem with a temporary crown is that they are not extremely strong, which indicates that they can break or come loose extremely easily.

A broken or loose temporary crown will expose your tooth to liquids and food, both of which can cause a fair bit of discomfort if they reach the exposed nerves beneath the short-term crown.

Another source of pain comes from a loose crown rubbing along your gums. This rubbing can reach the point where it can get rather uncomfortable and begin to bleed, which also opens up the path for potential infections.

Thankfully, a same-day crown will provide you with a long-term crown at the end of your first visit to the dental practitioner.

This eliminates the requirement for a temporary crown, therefore allowing you to prevent all of the pain and discomfort.

More Convenient

A standard crown is not a very convenient treatment to have performed, mostly due to the fact that it usually takes a minimum of two appointments to finish.

If your temporary crown is broken or falls off, which is common, you will have to make another visit to have it replaced. This can be a big problem if you have a hectic schedule on your hands, or if you have a job that prevents requiring time off in the middle of a busy work day.

However, a same-day crown can be completed in a single day, with a single appointment. This is enabled due to the fact that lots of dentists will buy the equipment to make their own crowns, rather than needing to order crowns from a dental laboratory.

This lets you prevent the trouble of needing to possibly spend weeks and multiple appointments to your dentist before the procedure is over and done with.

Speak to your dentist and inquire about the advantages provided by a same-day crown. A same-day crown can offer you with a practical and relatively pain-free option to a traditional crown.

Today's Topic Is:

Dental Bonding (Composite)

Bonding is a treatment in which we apply a tooth-colored composite product to a tooth, shape it, allow it to solidify, and polish it. It can be utilized in certain circumstances where a tooth has been damaged or ended up being stained. These are generally small repairs, ones that can be resolved through this fairly affordable methods instead of through a more expensive dental treatment.

How It Works:
Bonding involves adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth. This is done to fix damage done to the tooth by decay, to alter the positioning of the tooth, close gaps between the teeth, or for cosmetic purposes. First the surface of the tooth is roughened in order to accept the bonding and hold it. A gel is applied to micro etch the tooth surface, and a primer/bond agent is applied so the material adheres to the surface area. Then the material itself is placed on the tooth and solidified with intense light. The composite resin material is formed and polished to get a glossy finish as a last step.
