One Day Crowns And Teeth Restorations

Do you need to get a dental crown? Or will you soon be requiring a dental procedure that will cause you to need a dental crown? If so, you might be beginning to fear the time you will need to spend at the dental practitioner's office. At our dental practice, we offer a terrific time-saving option for you. We offer same day crowns at our practice!

At our practice we are proud to have professional and highly-trained dentists on staff. At our dental practice we include state-of-the-art innovations and procedures to offer our clients with the best restorative, precautionary, implant, and cosmetic dentistry care. For patients who need to get dental crowns, we are really delighted to be able to offer same day crowns.

Crowns and caps are 2 different names for the same thing. A dental crown is a restoration that is normally made from porcelain. It is a strong structure that is used to cover a tooth on all four sides to help strengthen the tooth and enhance its function.

Crowns can also be used to attach bridges, as the top part of a dental implant, or to prevent a damaged tooth from ending up being weaker. Crowns can also be used to strengthen a tooth after a root canal procedure.

Crowns are also used for purely visual reasons, such as to cover a severely tarnished tooth that has to be brought back to its original, appealing appearance.

Typically getting a dental crown is a prolonged procedure. The dentist will need to take impressions, provide you with a temporary crown, wait for the crown to be returned from a laboratory, and then have you go back to the office so that it can be permanently attached. Today at our practice patients can get same day crowns in about two hours.

Our same day crowns are created in our office thanks to our CAD-CAM technology.

CAD-CAM represents "computer-aided-design-computer-aided-manufacture." Computers are used to take photos which are then computer-analyzed and used to produce a crown.

This crown is really milled by a computer in our office. The crown will fit your mouth precisely and get rid of any need to send out impressions or pictures to an outside lab.

All this is done while you wait, getting rid of the need to return for a second appointment.

You also will not have to get a temporary crown, because our permanent crown will be immediately available to you.

If you want to meet our dentist to get more information about same day crowns or to get a same day crown, call our office.

Today's Subject Is:

Teeth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the primary aesthetic concern of many clients, there are a number of ways to whiten teeth. The most popular technique is using a home tooth whitening system that will whiten teeth considerably. Because tooth lightening just works on natural tooth enamel, it is necessary to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, and so on. Replacement of any restorations will be done after bleaching so they will match the newly bleached teeth.

Most dentists use numerous techniques: customizeded tray bleaching, professional strength white strips, and in-office bleaching.

The tray method involves having impressions taken, which the lab fabricates into customized vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is placed in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The entire procedure takes about a week of day-to-day use. 3 various strengths of gel might be used, however, the greater the strength, the greater the possibility of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray method is suggested for badly stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take multiple months of use to see significant color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a really fast and hassle-free lightening procedure. The appointment is approximately one hour consisting of both the preparation and treatment. Our clients enjoy this treatment because it is so simple and quick!

Tooth bleaching is not permanent. A touch-up may be required once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For upkeep of whitened teeth the trays should be utilized every few months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of external tooth layer.

  • Florousis (extreme fluoridation throughout tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, etc.).
