A Few Advantages Of Getting A Same Day Crown

Crowns are a very common dental procedure that is often required when someone's tooth is broken or if the tooth has actually degraded to the point where a filling will not work.

Typical crowns are relatively bothersome to obtain, but there is an alternative. Same-day crowns are a fantastic option since they are easier and lead to less discomfort:

A Lot Less Pain

A standard crown can result in discomfort for a few reasons, however one of the most significant sources of pain and discomfort is a result of having to have a short-term crown.

A short-term crown is applied as a placeholder to protect your exposed tooth until your permanent crown can be delivered to your dentist. This can take anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks.

The issue with a short-term crown is that they are not really strong, which means that they can break or come loose extremely quickly.

A broken or loose short-term crown will expose your tooth to liquids and food, both which can cause quite a bit of pain if they reach the exposed nerves below the short-term crown.

Another source of discomfort originates from a loose crown rubbing along your gums. This rubbing can get to the point where it can get rather agonizing and start to bleed, which also opens the course for potential infections.

Luckily, a same-day crown will provide you with a permanent crown at the end of your first appointment to the dentist.

This eliminates the need for a temporary crown, therefore allowing you to avoid all of the discomfort and pain.

Makes Sense

A traditional crown is not a very hassle-free treatment to have performed, mostly due to the fact that it generally takes a minimum of 2 appointments to complete.

If your short-term crown is broken or falls off, which is common, you will have to make another visit to have it changed. This can be a huge issue if you have a hectic schedule on your hands, or if you have a job that discourages taking time off in the middle of a hectic work day.

Nevertheless, a same-day crown can be completed in a single day, with a single appointment. This is enabled because many dentists will acquire the devices to make their own crowns, instead of needing to buy crowns from a dental lab.

This lets you prevent the inconvenience of having to potentially spend weeks and several visits to your dentist before the treatment is over and finished with.

Speak with your dentist and ask about the advantages offered by a same-day crown. A same-day crown can supply you with a practical and relatively pain-free option to a standard crown.

Today's Topic Will Be:

Ultra Sonic Teeth Cleaning

We use ultrasonic scalers for many adult dental cleanings. These devices utilize ultrasonic vibrations to help breakdown the plaque and calculus on the teeth that cause gingivitis and periodontal disease. The ultrasonic cleaners produce tiny bubbles that implode on the surface of the tooth, killing microorganisms and eliminating plaque and tartar in the process. Our instruments use a thin tip to better navigate in the gum pockets to help preserve optimal gingival health.

  • The procedure only uses water, no chemicals are used.

  • It can eliminate tartar buildup in hard-to-reach areas, with no damage to the tooth enamel.

  • Manual scaling often uses pressure for cleaning, while the vibration produced by the scaling tip of an ultrasonic scaler is hardly noticeable. This makes ultrasonic cleaning suitable to those with vulnerable teeth.

  • The cleaning process is much faster than manual scaling making your visit more comfy.

After your teeth have been cleaned with the ultrasonic cleaner, your teeth will be hand scaled to check for any residual deposits and then polished.
