ARLINGTON TX

At our dental practice we do same day crowns. You may ask, what are same day crowns and what can it provide for me?

It is a 3D system that lets us make porcelain crowns and inlays all in one appointment. We have actually now been using this technology for multiple years and like it more than ever.

Same day crowns are an in-surgery computer system that enables us to replace damaged or missing tooth structures with a ceramic material that's as close to a natural tooth as is possible.

This is done while you remain in the practice, in just one appointment. All ceramic porcelain inlays and onlays, veneers and crowns that look like natural teeth can be made and placed in a single appointment, usually in about an hour.

So what is the treatment?

We scan the opposite teeth and the way the teeth bite together first. We remove the old filling, and decay and any thin weak tooth product and scan the readied tooth.

After this we quit working in the mouth and start working with the computer.

Everyone likes seeing the pictures of their teeth and the developing of their new tooth. We make 3D design and this info is sent out to the milling system.

Everyone asks if this is like 3D printing and yes it is, but the tooth is not built up layer by layer, it is cut from a block in the device, which is much stronger.

The block is then precisely carved to produce your brand-new restoration, which is fantastic.

Finally, the customized crown restoration bonded perfectly into the tooth, reinforcing and sealing it at the same time then we tidy up!

We need to make sure that you can bite correctly, that its smooth and that you can floss.

Same Day Crown Restorations

CEREC means CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take exact digital images of areas requiring restoration and produce the suitable restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration finished in just one visit. We will develop and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to make your crown.

CEREC can be used for a wide range of indications: inlays, onlays, partial crowns, posterior crowns, anterior crowns and veneers.

Today We Will Be Going Over:

Composite Dental Bonding

Bonding is a treatment where we apply a tooth-colored composite product to a tooth, shape it, allow it to solidify, and polish it. It can be utilized in certain situations where a tooth has actually been broken or ended up being stained. These are usually small repairs, ones that can be resolved through this relatively affordable means instead of through a more pricey dental treatment.

Here's How It Works:
Bonding includes adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth. This is done to fix damage done to the tooth by decay, to change the positioning of the tooth, close gaps in between the teeth, or for cosmetic purposes. First the surface of the tooth is roughed up in order to accept the bonding and hold it. A gel is applied to micro etch the tooth surface, and a primer/bond agent is applied so the material sticks to the surface. Then the material itself is put on the tooth and solidified with intense light. The composite resin material is formed and polished to obtain a glossy finish as a last step.
