Same Day Dental Crowns With Advanced Technology

We aim to stay current with the multitude of technological advances that are happening in dentistry. We are proud to have the same day crown technology in our office. It enables us to produce crowns and larger restorations in our office. Same day crowns use the most innovative dental technology, including 3D video imaging and CAD/CAM innovation. In layman's terms, it is a computer-designed restoration for your tooth. The entire treatment takes in between 1-2 hours and can be finished in one sitting.

Typically, a crown in the past would have needed 2 visits. The first appointment consists of preparing the tooth, taking the mold, and fitting a short-term crown. During the second appointment, the temporary crown is replaced with the permanent one. With a same day crown, the entire treatment can be completed in simply one appointment. We will use video imaging technology to tke a picture of the tooth and use CAD/CAM technology to develop the crown. This 3D design is wirelessly sent to a milling machine that sculpts the restoration from a vacuum formed ceramic block. We will then adhere the new crown to your tooth. This removes the need to wear a short-term in addition to a 2nd appointment.

Corrective dentistry procedures can be crucial to the overall health of your teeth and mouth. Please call our office and request a consultation.

Today's Discussion Is About:

Dental Bonding (Composite)

Bonding is a procedure where we use a tooth-colored composite product to a tooth, shape it, allow it to harden, and polish it. It can be utilized in certain circumstances where a tooth has actually been broken or become stained. These are typically minor repairs, ones that can be resolved through this relatively affordable means rather than through a more pricey dental procedure.

How It Works:
Bonding involves adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth. This is done to fix damage done to the tooth by decay, to modify the positioning of the tooth, close gaps between the teeth, or for cosmetic purposes. First the surface of the tooth is roughed up in order to accept the bonding and hold it. A gel is applied to micro etch the tooth surface area, and a primer/bond agent is used so the material adheres to the surface. Then the material itself is put on the tooth and solidified with intense light. The composite resin material is formed and polished to obtain a glossy finish as a last step.
