The Conversation Of The Day Is:

Porcelain Veneers (Teeth)

Veneers are a very thin pieces of resilient, tooth shaped, porcelain that are customizeded (for shape and color) by a professional dental lab. They are bonded onto the front of teeth to produce a gorgeous and appealing smile.

Veneers can completely reshape your teeth and smile. They can often be alternatives to crowns and the ideal option in treating lots of cosmetic dental conditions for the front teeth.

As with the majority of dental restorations, veneers might one day require replacement; however, they are still extremely resilient and will last multiple years, offering you a long lasting, beautiful smile.

How Are Veneers Set?

Veneers are a dental treatment in which a covering is positioned over the outside (noticeable area) of the tooth. Veneers are generally only done to the part of the teeth that are visible when talking or smiling. The treatment can be direct or indirect.

The direct strategy usually involves putting composite resin on the outside of the tooth using bonding. This approach is typically referred to as bonding.

The indirect strategy usually involves 2 visits because the veneers will be fabricated at a dental lab. At the first visit the teeth are prepared, impressions taken, and the teeth are offered a short-term covering. In 2 to 3 weeks the veneers are back from the lab, the temporaries are removed and the veneers are bonded to the teeth. The lab fabricated veneers are usually made using porcelain or pressed ceramic, and are very esthetic.

The benefit of veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is removed, and the treatment is normally less uncomfortable. Veneers are not recommended for teeth that have big fillings or little tooth structure.

You will get care directions for your veneers. Appropriate brushing, flossing and regular dental visits will aid in the life of your brand-new and gorgeous veneers.
