The Advantages Of Getting Single Visit Crowns Are:

  • It is time-saving. It enables you to have your dental crown put in place in just one dental appointment.

  • Its material is biocompatible. Same day crowns use ceramic which copies the look of your natural teeth hence making it visually pleasing. It does not trigger temperature sensitivity which holds true when it comes to dental crowns made from metals.

  • It is durable. Same day crowns have the same resilience as those made from gold materials.

  • It is more accurate. The impression made from this brand-new innovation is more accurate compared to traditional impressions.

  • Taking dental impression is more comfortable. Same day crowns use intraoral camera and CAD to take the impression of the tooth while standard dental impression is done using sodium alignate.

The only downside of a single visit crown is that not all patients are candidates for this treatment. Clients with extensive tooth damage that has reached the gum line needs a traditional crown rather than a same day crown. Also, the damage in the front tooth needs a laboratory-manufactured crown because they are thoroughly made than same day crowns.

If you are interested with this type of procedure or you have more questions or concerns relating to same day crowns, call us today.

The Conversation Of The Day Is:

Tooth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the number one aesthetic concern of most patients, there are multiple methods to lighten teeth. The most popular method is using a home tooth bleaching system that will bleach teeth significantly. Because tooth lightening only works on natural tooth enamel, it is important to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, etc. Replacement of any restorations will be done after bleaching so they will match the freshly bleached teeth.

Most dentists utilize multiple approaches: customizeded tray bleaching, professional strength white strips, and in-office whitening.

The tray approach involves having impressions taken, which the lab produces into custom vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is put in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The whole process takes about a week of daily use. 3 different strengths of gel may be used, however, the higher the strength, the higher the likelihood of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray method is advised for terribly stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take numerous months of use to see substantial color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a really quick and convenient bleaching procedure. The visit is approximately one hour including both the preparation and treatment. Our patients like this treatment since it is so easy and fast!

Tooth lightening is not permanent. A touch-up may be needed once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For upkeep of whitened teeth the trays need to be used every few months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of external tooth layer.

  • Florousis (extreme fluoridation throughout tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, and so on).
