IMPLANT IN A DAY

Updated On Friday, February 15, 2019 06:45:58 PM

Our practice likes brand-new innovations, especially when it improves the dental care that we can offer to our patients. Because of this we now provide same day crowns.

Same day crowns are a wonderful new innovation where stunning all porcelain crowns are developed within two hours of the prep work of a tooth for a crown. The old procedure was where the dental practitioner prepared your tooth for a crown, took an impression and sent this impression to a laboratory to have the crown built. During this time the patient would have to wear a short-term plastic crown that was normally uncomfortable.

Today, our devices enables us to scan the tooth preparation and mill out a new all porcelain crown within two hours. This means that the patient leaves our office with the final crown that day!

  • There is no need to wear a short-term crown for two or three weeks.

  • There's no need to return once again to have the single day crown inserted on your tooth.

  • There is no need to be numbed up again! No more shots!

Our practice chooses same day crowns since it is made of lovely material as well as extremely resilient.

If your interested in a same day crown, please give our office a call.

Same Day Tooth Restorations

CEREC stands for CERamic REConstruction and is a tool in our office that can take precise digital images of locations needing restoration and produce the appropriate restoration on the spot.

With our CEREC cad/cam machine, you can have your crown or other restoration completed in simply one visit. We will develop and custom fit your tooth precisely with our computer system milling unit right in the office. You no longer have to have a temporary crown or wait weeks for the lab to make your crown.

CEREC can be used for a full range of indications: posterior crowns, anterior crowns, veneers, inlays, onlays and partial crowns.

Composite Dental Bonding

Bonding is a procedure where we apply a tooth-colored composite material to a tooth, shape it, allow it to harden, and polish it. It can be utilized in certain situations where a tooth has been damaged or ended up being stained. These are usually minor repairs, ones that can be resolved through this fairly inexpensive means rather than through a more pricey dental treatment.

How It Works:
Bonding involves adhering composite resin material that is matched to the color of the tooth, to the front of the tooth. This is done to fix damage done to the tooth by decay, to alter the positioning of the tooth, close gaps between the teeth, or for cosmetic purposes. First the surface of the tooth is roughened in order to accept the bonding and hold it. A gel is applied to micro etch the tooth surface area, and a primer/bond agent is used so the material adheres to the surface. Then the material itself is placed on the tooth and hardened with intense light. The composite resin material is formed and polished to obtain a shiny finish as a last step.
