Short on time? We offer same day crown restorations! This new innovation enables our personnel to carry out a range of dental restorations in simply one visit! Same day crown restorations offer your tooth a natural match to the rest of your teeth, and can help to reserve the healthy part of that tooth.

Why a single visit crown instead of a standard one?

Less time in the dental chair (Just one appointment that lasts two hours) half the number of appointments, fewer anesthetics, less tooth structure is lost in most cases, we can make most of the preparations for these crowns without removing too much of your natural tooth.

As soon as the design procedure starts, you are free to move about the office or even have additional dentistry such as fillings. There is about a 20 minute time frame in the middle of the visit where the crown unit is being fabricated.

Same day crowns are green (environmentally friendly) and are efficient and saves you money. (Fewer materials used, & less appointments mean fewer miles driven in your {car|vehicle).

Today We Will Be Talking About:

Fillings

Fillings are done to eliminate decay, and replace the affected tooth structure. It is called a filling due to the fact that brand-new material fills the hole that the decay left. Now days most teeth are treated with bonded tooth colored composite resin fillings. Caught early enough, cavities can be treated easily and painlessly. If not treated, decay can lead to tooth pain and/or infection, and the tooth would need a root canal treatment or extraction.

There are two kinds of fillings; amalgam or silver fillings, and composite or white fillings. Composite fillings are tooth-colored to blend in with the remaining natural part of the tooth. Most dentists offer both kinds of fillings, but find that a number of their clients like the composite fillings.

The term composite refers to the actual filling material which is a mix of glass or quartz filler in a resin medium.

Composite fillings supply good durability and resistance to fracture in small-to-mid size restorations that need to hold up against moderate chewing pressure. Less tooth structure is eliminated when the dental practitioner prepares the tooth, and this might lead to a smaller sized filling than with of an amalgam.

In addition, composites are "bonded", or adhesively attached, to the tooth, typically allowing a more conservative repair for the tooth. Composite fillings require that the tooth be kept clean and dry during the whole filling process and they undergo stain and discoloration with time. The life expectancy of a white filling can depend considerably on where it is in your mouth and how heavily your teeth come together when you bite.

Composite filling material is also frequently used to fix front teeth that have broken or worn. Where possible, esthetic bonding of composite material to front teeth is generally much cheaper than veneers or crowns. However, bonding generally does not last as long as veneers or crowns.
