Why Are They Called Same Day Crowns?

This state-of-the-art technology permits your dental practitioner to take accurate images of your tooth and use those images to design, manufacture, and put a porcelain or zirconia crown in a single visit. Same day crowns offer exceptional benefits, value, and accuracy to our patients.

How Does The Same Day Crown Technology Work?

The same day crown process consists of 3 fundamental steps. 1st, your dentist uses 3D imaging to take highly accurate photos of your tooth and the surrounding structures. Next, he downloads these images into a computer and, using computer-assisted design software, creates your custom-fitted crown. 3rd, your dental practitioner will send the design to their in-office precision milling machine which creates the crown from a block of dental porcelain or zirconia. Once they stain and glaze the crown for extra strength and esthetics, your dentist will put it on your tooth.

Exactly What Are The Advantages Of Same Day Crowns?

We only use dental porcelain and zirconia to develop our same day crowns. These metal-free restorations provide unparalleled toughness, durability, chip and stain resistance, and natural appeal.

Precision-fitted same day crowns need less tooth preparation and protect more of your tooth structure.

Traditional crowns need 2 office visits. With same day crowns, you can come to our dentist's office for an appointment and leave with a wonderfully fixed tooth.

You can prevent the trouble and possible risks connected with uncomfortable short-term crowns.

Today's Topic Has To Do With:

TMJ (Temporal-Mandibular Joint)

TMJ stands for temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Issues in this joint may be triggered by a misalignment of the teeth, trauma, or excess muscle stress. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and 5 muscles are associated with the area. If something goes wrong a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can cause:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Trouble or soreness in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, often extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can include replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling gaps between teeth, etc. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. In some cases a plastic mouth piece is utilized to prevent clenching or grinding that is adding to the problem. If neglected and taken to extremes, surgery might be required to repair a terribly damaged joint.
