What Are The Benefits Of Same Day Crowns?

There are multiple benefits to having treatment with same day crowns over conventional, laboratory-made restorations.

  • Everything is carried out in a single visit, you only need to see the dentist one time, take one day away from your life to have the procedure, instead of the usual two or three appointments.

  • Only one set of local, because the entire procedure can be performed within an hour you only have to have one injection.

  • Your dentist is in complete control of the final outcome, given that the crown or inlay are designed and fabricated from start to finish by your dentist, they have total control over how it will look and fit.

  • No short-term restorations, which can often fall off between visits if they are not cared for correctly.

The Topic Of The Day Is:

Digital X-Rays

X-rays are a primary tool for early identification of dental problems.

Identifying issues with x-rays before they end up being problems can save you money in the long run by preventing the requirement for more extensive, expensive procedures or surgeries. X-rays are mostly used to spot:

  • Cysts (fluid filled sacks at the base of your teeth).

  • Impacted teeth.

  • Teeth that are still coming in.

  • Tumors, both cancerous and non-cancerous.

  • Internal tooth decay.

Most dentists use digital x-rays, which have numerous advantages over conventional film based x-rays. Digital x-rays allow us to take x-rays with 1/5 of the radiation that you would receive from traditional dental x-rays. The worry of direct exposure to excess radiation is eliminated.

Big on-screen X-rays make patient communication more effective. The instant observation of the images on the screen allows us to discuss your dental health quickly and properly.

Digital radiography has significantly improved the practice of dentistry. It enables the client and the doctor to see pictures of the teeth in greater resolution on a large format for much easier detection of problems, all while decreasing the radiation exposure to the patient. The process we use further defines the radiograph, resulting in clinically meaningful images that are sharp, detailed and rich in contrast.

Images are available immediately after exposure, removing the wait and effort spent establishing and mounting x-rays. If an image has to be retaken, it can be done instantly. Digital format also allows us to send and get your images digitally for consultation that can be provided to you rapidly.
