Same day crowns are a dental restoration device that enables a dental practitioner to produce an indirect ceramic dental restoration using computer-assisted innovations, including 3-D photography and CAD/CAM (computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing).

Same day crowns allows dentists the versatility to restore teeth in a single sitting with a patient, instead of the multiple appointments needed with other methods!

Same day crowns have actually been proven by hundreds of clinical research studies and is provided by countless dental practitioners to countless clients around the world each year!

Same day crowns not only conserves you time and money, it can also save your teeth!

Dental X-rays are unable to penetrate metal crowns, making any degeneration undetectable until it was far too late.

Same day crowns use a strong porcelain that x-rays can penetrate. This indicates any decay below the restoration can be found and treated before it becomes a big problem.

Since same day crown technology use a milling device to mill the ceramic into your custom-made restoration, the porcelain is stronger than those produced by hand. And, the computer-assisted technology can produce an almost similar restoration of the previous tooth.

Today's Topic Is:

Root Canal (Endodontic Treatment)

Root canal treatment (also referred to as root canal therapy or endodontic therapy) is needed when a cavity is allowed, through neglect, to reach all the way to the root pulp. (Regular cleanings and checkups prevent and identify problems early). In some cases deep restorations or trauma to a tooth might also cause the nerve to be damaged to the point it requires root canal treatment. When this takes place, the pulp ends up being infected, and can even extend through the root tip and begin to eat away at the surrounding bone (this is an abscess).

By the time the pulp is infected it has to be treated, and can not recover on its own. It can even weaken the whole immune system. This is dangerous, and may be very painful. Signs that the pulp has actually become infected may consist of sensitivity to hot/cold or sweets, discomfort, swelling, pain to biting or pressure, and a bad taste in the mouth. Often, however, no symptoms appear and the person is unaware of any problem up until a checkup.

A root canal is then performed to clear out the infected tooth pulp, and decontaminate the canals of the tooth. The only other treatment would be to remove the tooth. When the infection is dealt with, the canal(s) are filled in to prevent any further infection. Generally a core build-up and crown is suggested for bring back a tooth that has had root canal therapy.
