Today's Conversation Will Be About:

Dental Dentures

There are various types of dentures, but they share their common function. They replace teeth that have become loose or been lost due to bone loss. When bone loss around the roots of teeth is big enough to let them fall out or loosen them, it's time for dentures. Relax. No one enjoys losing their natural teeth, but you can still eat and talk regularly.

The entire mouth is examined and a decision is made as to which teeth will have to be removed, and which will stay. The loose teeth are then removed. Dentures are fitted to go around or over whatever teeth stay in the mouth, depending on the type. There is an adjustment period after dentures are put in the mouth, and it can take some getting used to. But once accustomed to the dentures, all the regular functionality and appearance return and one just continues as usual. Typically implants can be utilized to further support the dentures.

It is very important to note that life with an upper denture, a lower denture, and especially both, is a significant lifestyle change when compared with natural teeth. Dentures affect the kind of food you are able to eat, your self-confidence in social situations, and even your self-confidence.

Reasons For Getting A Full Denture:

  • All Teeth missing in the exact same arch

  • Restore chewing ability

  • Restore a natural looking smile

  • Economical alternative to other treatments

An upper full denture will often feel better than a lower full denture. In order to considerably improve the fit of a lower full denture, we frequently suggest using dental implants as a retentive mechanism. Two dental implants put in the lower jaw can help anchor the denture and substantially improve comfort. In some cases, the implants can even be placed in the jaw after a denture has actually been in use for a number of years.
