Updated On Wednesday, March 20, 2019 11:07:49 PM

Temporary crowns and 2nd visits for crowns are now typically unnecessary thanks to the same day crown technology. We offer this amazing one-visit crown technology in our office, adding higher convenience to the process of getting a crown. The waiting time between your treatment and when you get your long-term crown is eliminated.

The same day crown technology is an instrument that enables ceramic restorations (veneers, inlays, onlays, and crowns) to be performed in one visit instead of two. The computer coordinates with a digital camera permitting the dentist to make digital impressions without the annoyance of bulky impression material.

After taking the picture the computer takes over and mills your customized crown right away so that we can cement your new crown that very same day. The outcomes we see are incredible. With the same day crowns, the strength, aesthetics, and fit of the ceramic restorations are outstanding.

Today Were Discussing:

Teeth Whitening

Because having whiter teeth has now become the primary aesthetic concern of most clients, there are multiple methods to whiten teeth. The most popular method is utilizing a home tooth bleaching system that will bleach teeth dramatically. Because tooth bleaching only works on natural tooth enamel, it is essential to evaluate replacement of any old fillings, crowns, etc. Replacement of any restorations will be done after whitening so they will match the recently bleached teeth.

Most dentists use a number of techniques: customizeded tray whitening, professional strength white strips, and in-office whitening.

The tray approach involves having impressions taken, which the lab fabricates into custom-made vinyl trays. A carbamide peroxide gel is put in these trays and the trays with gel are worn for about 30 minutes to a full hour. The entire procedure takes about a week of day-to-day use. Three different strengths of gel may be utilized, however, the higher the strength, the greater the likelihood of reactions or tooth sensitivity. The tray method is suggested for badly stained teeth, such as tetracycline staining, and it may take multiple months of use to see substantial color improvement.

Our in-office treatment is a extremely fast and convenient bleaching process. The visit is roughly one hour including both the preparation and treatment. Our clients enjoy this treatment due to the fact that it is so easy and quick!

Tooth bleaching is not permanent. A touch-up may be needed once a year and more often if you smoke and/or drink coffee, tea, or wine. For upkeep of whitened teeth the trays should be utilized every couple of months.

Reasons For Tooth Whitening:

  • Yellow, brown stained teeth.

  • Normal wear of external tooth layer.

  • Florousis (excessive fluoridation during tooth development).

  • Stained teeth due to medications (tetracycline, etc.).
