Why Do They Call Them Same Day Crowns?

This cutting edge innovation permits your dentist to take precise images of your tooth and use those images to design, manufacture, and place a porcelain or zirconia crown in a single appointment. Same day crowns offer unparalleled convenience, value, and precision to our patients.

How Does The Same Day Crown Technology Work?

The same day crown process includes 3 fundamental steps. 1st, your dentist uses 3D imaging to take extremely accurate pictures of your tooth and the surrounding structures. Second, they then download these images into a computer and, using computer-assisted design software, creates your custom-fitted crown. 3rd, your dentist will send out the design to their in-office precision milling machine which creates the crown out of a block of dental porcelain or zirconia. Once they stain and glaze the crown for added strength and esthetics, your dental practitioner will position it on your tooth.

Exactly What Are The Benefits Of Same Day Crowns?

We just use dental porcelain and zirconia to create our same day crowns. These metal-free restorations provide unparalleled strength, durability, chip and stain resistance, and natural appeal.

Precision-fitted same day crowns require less tooth preparation and protect more of your tooth structure.

Standard crowns need two office visits. With same day crowns, you can come into our dentist's office for an appointment and leave with a magnificently fixed tooth.

You can avoid the trouble and potential risks related to ill-fitting short-term crowns.

Temporal-Mandibular Joint

TMJ stands for temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Problems in this joint might be brought on by a misalignment of the teeth, trauma, or excess muscle tension. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and 5 muscles are involved in the area. If something fails a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can cause:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Soreness in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, sometimes extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can consist of replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling spaces in between teeth, etc. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. Often a plastic mouthpiece is used to prevent clenching or grinding that is contributing to the problem. If neglected and required to extremes, surgery might be needed to fix a severely damaged joint.
