If you have a missing tooth or teeth, you know the embarrassment and pain this can cause. You have most likely been investigating ways you can restore your smile and great bite. We think you will be really interested to know that at our practice, you have the ability to receive same day crowns! It is a comfortable one-day treatment!

Our whole dental practice is state-of-the-art, except for our client care and issue which is traditional. We know the pain missing teeth can cause clients, and therefore we are extremely pleased to be able to supply patients with same day crowns.

Dental crowns are used to strengthen a tooth, and return it to its initial function. Dental crowns are made to color-match the surrounding teeth, so they can not be identified by others as being anything less than a permanent tooth. With a dental crown, you have the ability to eat anything you like, and your clear speech will never ever be interfered with. In fact, your dental crown is so natural feeling, you will not even know it exists in your mouth.

Same day crowns are a really exciting offering of our practice. We have the ability to offer you with a gorgeous new smile in just one day. Our office has state-of-the-art equipment that enables dentists to provide you with crowns in simply a small portion of the time that was required previously.

CAD/CAM innovation is exactly what makes this interesting development possible. The acronym means computer-aided design/computed-aided manufacturing. We have the ability to use this innovation in our system. This system is used to fix teeth, start to finish, in one day. This will save you from an extra appointment to our practice, a week or two later. We're sure you have much more amazing things you would rather do with your time than to sit in our dental practitioner's chair any longer than you have to!

Using our new system, we scan the prepared tooth in your mouth or from an impression, and then send the information to our in-office milling station. The restoration is computer-milled to the specific specifications to fit your mouth in minutes. As soon as the crown is crated, we put it in your mouth, and color, polish and restore your brand-new tooth to a gorgeous and natural-looking appeal. This innovation can also be used for same-day veneers or inlays.

If you need a crown in a hurry, for an upcoming social or business event, this process might indeed be ideal for you. If you have an interest in finding out more about this process, call us today for an appointment.

Today's Topic Is:

TMJ (Temporal-Mandibular Joint)

TMJ means temporal-mandibular joint. Temporal, as in temple area of skull; mandibular as in mandible, or lower jaw; joint as in it's where the head and jaw meet. Issues in this joint might be caused by a misalignment of the teeth, trauma, or excess muscle stress. Aside from the two bones that meet there, cartilage buffers them and five muscles are associated with the area. If something fails a good deal of trouble can result.

Problems in this area can trigger:

  • Earaches.

  • Headaches.

  • Pain in the jaw muscles.

  • Trouble or soreness in opening and closing the mouth.

  • Soreness in the area, sometimes extending to the face.

  • Clicking or popping of the jaw.

Dental treatments for the condition can include replacing missing teeth, moving teeth, adjusting the bite, filling gaps between teeth, etc. There is no one solution that is right for all cases. Sometimes a plastic mouthpiece is used to prevent clenching or grinding that is adding to the issue. If neglected and required to extremes, surgery might be needed to fix a terribly damaged joint.
