At our dental practice we do same day crowns. You may ask, exactly what are same day crowns and exactly what can it do for me?

It is a 3D system that lets us make porcelain crowns and inlays all in one visit. We have now been using this innovation for multiple years and love it more than ever.

Same day crowns are an in-surgery computer system that allows us to change broken or missing tooth structures with a ceramic product that's as close to a natural tooth as is possible.

This is done while you are in the practice, in just one appointment. All ceramic porcelain inlays and onlays, veneers and crowns that look and feel like natural teeth can be made and placed in a single visit, generally in about an hour.

So exactly what is the procedure?

We scan the opposite teeth and the method the teeth bite together first. We eliminate the old filling, and decay and any thin weak tooth product and scan the prepared tooth.

After this we quit working in the mouth and begin working with the computer.

Everyone likes seeing the pictures of their teeth and the creating of their new tooth. We make 3D design and this info is sent out to the milling unit.

Everyone asks if this is like 3D printing and yes it is, but the tooth isn't developed layer by layer, it is cut from a block in the device, which is much more durable.

The block is then exactly carved to produce your brand-new restoration, which is wonderful.

At last, the custom made crown restoration bonded seamlessly into the tooth, reinforcing and sealing it at the same time and after that we clean up!

We need to make sure that you can bite properly, that its smooth and that you can floss.

The Conversation Of The Day Will Be:

Endodontic Treatment (Root Canal)

Root canal treatment (also referred to as root canal therapy or endodontic therapy) is required when a cavity is allowed, through neglect, to reach all the way to the root pulp. (Regular cleanings and checkups prevent and find issues early). In some cases deep restorations or trauma to a tooth may also cause the nerve to be damaged to the point it needs root canal treatment. As soon as this takes place, the pulp ends up being infected, and can even extend through the root tip and start to eat away at the surrounding bone (this is an abscess).

By the time the pulp is infected it has to be treated, and can not heal by itself. It can even damage the entire immune system. This is dangerous, and might be extremely agonizing. Signs that the pulp has actually become infected may include sensitivity to hot/cold or sweets, pain, swelling, discomfort to biting or pressure, and a bad taste in the mouth. In some cases, however, no signs appear and the individual is unaware of any issue until a checkup.

A root canal is then performed to clean out the infected tooth pulp, and disinfect the canals of the tooth. The only other treatment would be to extract the tooth. As soon as the infection is fixed, the canal(s) are filled in to prevent any further infection. Typically a core build-up and crown is recommended for bring back a tooth that has actually had root canal therapy.
